Oregon State receiving great Mike Hass among 21 inductees into College Football Hall of Fame Updated: Jan. 10, 2022, 1:40 p.m. | Published: Jan. 10, 2022, 12:38 p.m.

By Nick Daschel | The Oregonian/OregonLive Mike Hass, who holds or shares numerous Oregon State receiving records, was named Monday for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.
A walk-on receiver from Jesuit High School in Portland, Hass played for the Beavers from 2002-05 and is the fifth person with OSU ties to earn a Hall of Fame nomination. Others include: quarterback Terry Baker (1982), running back Bill Enyart (2011) and coaches Tommy Prothro (1991 and Dennis Erickson (2019).
Hass is among 18 players and three coaches who will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame on Dec. 8, joining the likes of linebacker LaVar Arrington (Penn State), defensive back Champ Bailey (Georgia), running back Rashaam Salaam (Colorado) and quarterback Andrew Luck (Stanford).
Hass is Oregon State’s all-time leader in career receiving yards with 3,924. He recorded three 1,000-yard seasons — his 1,532-yard performance in 2005 ranks No. 2 all-time, and his 1,379-yard season in 2004 is No. 3.
In 2005, Hass earned the Fred Biletnikoff Award, an annual honor given to the nation’s top receiver in college football.
Hass has two of OSU’s four top single-game receiving yardage performances. In 2004, Hass established a school record with 293 receiving yards against Boise State. Hass’ 225-yard performance against Stanford in 2003 ranks fourth.
In 2004, Hass caught 14 passes against Arizona State, tied for best in OSU history.
Hass caught 86 passes in 2004, and 90 in 2005, both among Oregon State’s top five single-season performances.
Hass ranks No. 1 at Oregon State in 100-yard games with nine.

Source for Robb Thomas is Wilky Both Aaron and Robb Thomas were better than Hass. Hass played for better coaches on better teams than Robb and excelled. Brandin Cooks was better than the three. I am curious how long it takes Cooks to get in. Before or after 2030? Congratulations, Mike! Undoubtedly, the second-best receiver at Oregon State the past 20 years.

It appears that Wilky just defaults to the players that had better NFL careers when the focus should be their college playing days. If we took into account their pro careers, Baker would have to give his Heisman back.

They need to issue a correction. The 293 yard game was at USC, not vs the donks. We lost but Mike kept it competitive and interesting.

They need to issue a correction. The 293 yard game was at USC, not vs the donks. We lost but Mike kept it competitive and interesting. The 293-yard game was on the Smurf Turf in Boise. Mike Hass caught 12 passes for 293 yards and 3 touchdowns, breaking Robb Thomas' single game receiving yardage record (9 receptions for 230 yards and four touchdowns) in Parker in 1987. In 2004, Hass had three receptions for 74 yards and two touchdowns on the first two drives. Boise State then made adjustments, holding Hass to two catches for 51 yards over the next 27 minutes. In the meantime, the Broncos scored 34 straight points half to go up 34-14. 168 of Mike Hass' 293 yards (57.34%) came in the final 23 minutes, as Boise State went into prevent defense and Oregon State almost completely abandoned the run to try an fruitlessly come back on the Broncos. 5 receptions for 125 yards in the first 37 minutes and 7 receptions for 168 yards in the final 23 minutes. You are probably thinking about Mike Hass' 8 reception for 208 yard and no touchdown performance in the Coliseum in 2003. Derek Anderson set the single game passing record in the game, which stood until Sean Mannion's 493-yard performance against Wazzu in 2013. On the second play from scrimmage, Derek Anderson hit Mike Hass for a 90 yard pass, Hass being caught from behind by Jason Leach at the one. The game was the longest pass that Anderson ever threw and the longest pass that Hass ever caught. Hass otherwise never caught a pass of 75 yards or more for the rest of his career. Other than the 90-yard pass, Hass caught 7 passes for 118 yards.
