Wasn't that in Louisiana? Shreveport? or something like that? 😂 I'll never forget that bowl name. Ever. It just flows off the tongue. 😂

Really sad to see middle or tight of center being attacked. This country is going down the tubes. Anyone that likes this crap is too far left to even waste time with. Products of great learning. Why do you lefties think you are so enlightened? You are not walking with God. God is not looking fondly at this stuff. Why can’t we just discuss football? Because I want everybody to have universal health care. That's it. That's all. Nearly everybody on the right, and many on the left, want to protect corporate interests over American people.
If you disagree, I am more enlightened than you.
Are we talking football?

What does UHC mean to you? Because, as it usually defined, we have it. And if we don't have it, then neither does most of Central Europe. What we do not have is mandated UHC. And what we do not have is nationalized medicine, like in Canada or the United Kingdom. I am all for anyone, who wants insurance to be able to find affordable insurance. We have that. That's it. And we tried the co-ops, and they all failed to a one. They do not work here. You would have to fundamentally overhaul the laws of each of the 50 semi-sovereign states to get that to work. And I disagree with nationalized medicine, because prices cannot go down, just quality. Then, you have people dying waiting to be treated for cancer, while the hypochondriacs flood waiting rooms, like in Canada. Or you have the governments deny children life-saving treatments and operations , like in the United Kingdom. Like, oh say, Alfie Evans: Or Charlie Gard: A 23-month-old and an 11-month-old murdered by nationalized health care. No treatments. Just pull the plug and on to the next child too expensive to save. More enlightened, my eye! People that oppose nationalized health care are trying to keep health decisions out of the hands of unaccountable and faceless bureaucrats and with patients and parents. Big government is almost invariably terrible at everything. Why on God's green earth would anyone enlightened want them making healthcare decisions for us?

I don't mind you spending time with your God, but please, leave him/her/them on the sidelines when it comes to politics. And definitely leave the 2000 year old book behind as well. Your values and your beliefs are fine...for you. But you have to respect others and their values and their beliefs as well. If you can't, then what has your religion taught you, except how to hate? And in football, God has shown that there's no use praying. He's not listening. Otherwise, Notre Dame (or BYU or SMU or....) ought to be #1 every year.

Who can talk about football when the country is "going down the tubes"? And what's wrong with the tubes? They're fun at water parks.

EMTALA does not equal universal health care. What a ludicrous declaration. Unless you are literally at risk of death, any health care provider in this country can refuse to see you as they choose. Only hospital based emergency room are required to provide life-saving and condition stabilizing services regardless of your ability to pay. And all that means is you are treated and then in debt for the rest of your life, and sent to collections to be hounded into eternity. And once you are stablized your ass is out that door. good luck on any follow up care. Universal health care, for people that choose not to be intentionally obtuse about it, always is taken to mean the universal financing of health care for all citizens. It is not taken to mean the nationalization of providers, which only very few places do. But that doesn't stop naysayers from pointing to the minority of all cases as an excuse to not fix anything about our current system. You can always tell when you talk to somebody that actually knows what they are talking about because they can distinguish between the financing of health care and the delivery of health care. And a plan to finance the health care of all citizens (say, in Medicare for all type proposals) is profoundly different than a plan to deliver health care to citizens. 60% of all bankruptcies in Oregon cited Medical Debt in the most recent data (I think 2019) I looked at. According to Kaiser Family Foundation, 37% of Americans say they avoid or delay health care due to the cost. Please, tell me again how successful and glorious our current system is? I am not sure if these signs have made it to your neck of the woods, but as I drive around Salem, I now see advertisements for "Cash Paid for Diabetic Test Strips" America's health care system is so much better than nationalized systems we have a thriving grey market for health care supplies. You oppose nationalized health care to keep health decisions out of unaccountable and faceless bureaucrats hands? Just what in the actual f%#* do you think happens right now? your health care decisions are dictated by your insurance plan benefits. What treatments you can, and cannot get, are decided by corporate profits. Not you and not your doctor. Every single insurance company and every single provider has existing list of what they will and what they won't pay for. I understand your distain for government, but I am not sure a corporate MBA and actuary is that much better of a choice. The only way you are free from the decision power of a payer, is if you are so rich you do not need one. You don't get to decide. That is the bottom line. All you have is the illusion of choice in America but any halfway decent analysis of the system uncovers the lies. Congrats on pulling the heart strings on a couple children. Do you want to put up pictures of people that have died because they couldn't afford their insulin so they were rationing it? Can I post some pictures of Jeremy Crawford? or Jada Lewis or any of the other dozen people dead due to the cost of Insulin? Mind you, not dead from the extreme costs of treating a terminal neurodegenerative genetic disorder which had no cure and no hope for this child to live off of life support. Not dead from the disagreement as to what was most humane, ending the life or preserving the life. Dead from the inability to afford a drug invented 101 years ago. One that costs $6.94 in the UK, but averages $98.70 in America. Great job finding two pictures of unfortunate situations in a health care system that administers care for 67 million people, all while completely ignoring the countless thousands of people that have died due to the very same fundamental issue in America: the cost to go on. At least here in America not only do we also have dead babies and dead kids and dead adults from failures of hte system, just like NHS... but we also have hundreds of thousands of people in crushing medical debt, something no other nation has. Your lecture on enlightenment is well taken.

The Martinez thing struck me as weird. I thought he was done. Maybe just done with Frost. I’ve been lectured before why I’m wrong, but I think what we see far too much is a quitters attitude. It’s refreshing to me when you see kids stay around and compete, or stick with the school they commuted to before the coach left. Few and far between.

I didn't catch any USU this year - but watch SDSU a couple of times. USU beat them to take the title - that speaks volumes. Best bring the pressure as you suggest. SDSU had 20 players out with Covid but no excuses The guys over at USUFans.com have searched the SDSU roster for that day. It appears that their first team tight end was out. He was the only player on the first team offense or defense that was out. Five other players on their second and third teams appear to have been out. The other fourteen players that were allegedly out are unaccounted for. None of the players that missed the game were among their 8 first team and 4 second team all conference players. By comparison, Utah State had one player on the all conference first team, and two on the second team. SDSU has a reputation for being whiny.

Like I said...no excuses. But I'm guessing dealing with q Covid outbreak right before the MWC championship game impacted players and coaches mindset and preparation. Utah State won the game...handily, that's all thst matters, certainly not discrediting the victory.
