The Mountain West has 8 of 12 teams going bowling, a conference record. The conference did well this year in OOC. One of the big disadvantages of being in a G5 conference is the bowl assignments. If you're not the conference champion, even if you're a nationally ranked team with an 11-1 regular season, with wins over good P5 teams, you're going to be playing in the Barney's Muffler Shop Nobody Cares Bowl against Directional Michigan. That's just the way it is. We can only play the bowls that will take us. If you guys would like to invite us to join the PAC-13 so we can get better bowl invitations, I'm sure we'd consider the offer. Who is the Utah St rival? I love the school! Almost went there, in my final 4 back in the day. Beautiful!

Almost went there, in my final 4 back in the day. Beautiful! Well, the biggest rivalry used to be "The Battle of the Brothers" with the University of Utah. The first game was played in 1892. It had been played 113 times. The last game was in 2015. We played Utah very close in 2013 and 2015, and won in 2014. This was after decades of losing to them. They cited the 9 conference game PAC-12 schedule as a reason to end the series. The other major rivalry is "The Old Wagon Wheel", with BYU. The trophy is actually a pioneer era wagon wheel. We'll see if that continues now that the Y (local Utah short hand. BYU is commonly just referred to as "the Y") is going to the Big 12. When we joined the conference, the conference office felt the need to create a rivalry for us, so we have "Bridger's Battle" with Wyoming. Actually, historically they had been our fourth most played opponent, and we were their fifth most played opponent. Additionally, they're the MWC school that probably has the most in common with Utah State. I actually like the Wyoming rivalry. It's a very friendly rivalry. You never see any fights break out. No matter who wins, there are lots of smiles and handshakes, and a lot of "see you next year; we're gonna whip you then". The trophy for Bridger's battle is a replica of Jim Bridger's 50 cal Hawkin rifle. We have fairly heated unofficial rivalries with Boise State, which is just a 4 hour drive away, and Colorado State. I'm biased. In addition to going to Utah State undergraduate, I grew up in Logan. I think it's a beautiful campus. Lovely place. A former coach Dave Krafthorpe lived in Logan. Great guy who would hug me when he saw me. A Christian thing. Wish He had been successful as he was a good man.

A somewhat informative article about Utah State being "geeked up" to play Oregon State: www.deseret.com/2021/12/5/22817881/utah-state-will-end-its-season-with-bowl-game-that-will-give-aggies-the-spotlight-they-deserveAnd while I personally appreciate Jimmy Kimmel, fact is that he represents a point of view that is potentially polarizing, and perhaps bowls might want to stick with corporate sponsors that nurture a more "across the aisle" image? Also, when does this mouthful of sponsors to go along with bowl name end........I don't see F1/Nascar teams have to mention all of their myriad sponsors every time they talk......the danger of monetizing everything I guess (let's be thankful the lead donor of Raising Reser 2 is anonymous.....wait - "here we are at Anonymous Lead Donor Reser Stadium Parker Field presented by .......") Go Beavers!!

A great human being? Please cite examples. He puts donnie in his place time and time again. You are welcome. I'm sure everyone can agree his artful portrayal of Karl Malone was thought-provoking. And of course feminists everywhere enjoyed his sensitive depiction of women on the Man Show. Add the fact that he thinks 'orange man bad' and you've got a formula for success in Hollywood. You're welcome right back.

Honestly I don't know if ANY of us has the right to judge him a tool...he's a celebrity sure, and so he called out Drumpf....beyond that I know really not much about him, nor do I profess to. He MAY be a tool, but just because he has different political beliefs than you doesn't make him one. Right, left....we as a society need to be able to disagree with one another and not make it a personal thing or a character judgment. I'm guilty of it as well....working on it.
