Anybody have any info on this team? I know nothing about them. Returning players? Rankings in their league? Just general info of interest?
I almost skipped the Cal Baptist game because I thought it was going to be one of those early season mis-match games - until I read the reviews about their team, their program, and their recent success.
Learning about them made the game a lot more interesting....And probably prevented a mild coronary in that pathetic first half when a team most WBB fans in the nation never heard of, dropped 45 on the traditionally tough Beaver defence.
At any rate....I'd be interested in learning more about Cal State Bakersfield if anyone has something to share..... GO BEAVS!!

Don't the Beavs play CSUB every year? Sure seems like it. Not home and home though, always in Corvallis. They ain't Cal Baptist. Looks like they've played some non D1 schools this year, only game against a real team they lost by 13 to Pacific, who isn't expected to do much in the WCC this year. Maybe the most interesting thing about CSUB is their coach is the father of former Stanford standout Erica McCall. Looking at their history, they've had some decent seasons. Recently moved from the WAC to the Big West. Not really much notable about them.
Looked at roster and stats. A whole bunch of Fr. Shooting over 40% from 3 and averaging 88 ppg, but that is skewed by playing Bethesda, whatever the hell that is.

We played them in 2018-19, and beat them 92-52. Played them again in 2019-20, and beat them 69-50. Don't know if we were supposed to play them last year or not.

IN JUST 2 games: CSUB's leading 3-pt shooter (Andie Easley) is 7/11 from 3. She's a Senior Guard and has played 27 minutes per game.
On the 'big' side of things, Hennie Van Schaik, Forward at 6'-3" (Freshman, The Netherlands, NOT a starter), has played 22 minutes per game and grabbed 8 rebounds per game.
Against Pacific they shot 41% from the field, with 54% from 3-pt. Only 7 assists, with 15 turnovers. They equaled Pacific on the boards.

Tea is back for this game. Tea and Deven took a knee for the anthem. Which is an implicit suggestion that they think that America is a racist nation and that we need to be reminded of our legacy of guilt? I thought we were over that crap.

Looks like Rueck has TvO on a short leash yanked early and sat most of Q1.
