Tea is back for this game. Tea and Deven took a knee for the anthem. Which is an implicit suggestion that they think that America is a racist nation and that we need to be reminded of our legacy of guilt? I thought we were over that crap. What if they were just trying to say that Black Lives Matter? Because, you know, for decades (centuries in fact) black Lives DID NOT matter to many folks in this nation. img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/6/0/4/5/4/4/webimg/1096034721_o.jpgbtw, Tea Adams was the team leader in assists in today's game. Beaver's WBB team really NEED her this season since our starting PG is new in that role as a D-1 WBB player. As for Deven, she is the 4th all time leading rebounder at OSU in WBB history, and was an academic All-American in her Senior year on the team...and has earned an advanced degree since her days as a student in Corvallis. I think I'll leave it up to THEM as to how they express themselves pre-game. I don't think people have a problem with individuals expressing their opinions, but with their choice of how they're going to express it. Basically, they are protesting a perceived negative by being loudly negative themselves. I get that. In our society, it's the only effective way to be heard, and our politicians speak derisively and negatively continually. The flag, however, is a very illogical choice of an object to which you would direct your displeasure. The nation, unique in the world, was founded on a set of ideals, which had very little basis in fact 245 years ago, but toward which we have been inexorably moving over that same time period. Our flag is not just the symbol of a land mass united under a government and calling itself a nation (as most flags are); it is a symbol of the ideals expressed at the founding. Quite regularly throughout history, different groups have attempted to usurp the flag and hide behind it in an effort to provide legitimacy to what they are doing - some of the people storming the capitol on January 6 come to mind. Others have chosen desecration - the flag burners of the Vietnam era, for example. Today, they're choosing simple disrespect. Those who view the flag as symbolic of the ideal, however, find all 3 methods to be in extremely poor taste, and, if we represent a large part of the target audience, it adversely affects the messaging. Rather than leading to serious consideration of the point the usurper, desecrater, or kneeler was trying to convey, it has the effect of almost totally clouding that over, as all that is thought of is the lack of respect for the flag. It is therefore illogical. Those who are doing it would be well served to find an alternate means of expression. It does not unite people toward a common goal; rather, it is divisive - as manifested on this board.

One detail from the game that I haven't seen mentioned was Codding switching from her big brace to a sleeve. It's the first time I've seen her without the brace. Hopefully that's an encouraging measure of her ongoing recovery from her injury.

So what would you propose as punishment for those who do not conform to the presumably “correct” expression of patriotism? If there is none, does that diminish your enjoyment of the actual game?

All this time I thought it was a TEAM game. Good for one or all?? I heard a disturbing rumor that when they get off the bus that they just do it randomly instead of alphabetically. Can someone confirm or deny this? Oh please, get over yourself Alexa!!

No one is, or has suggested "punishment", where did you get that from? These are all observations, nothing more. Some folks are disturbed by it others don't care, or choose not to dwell on it. It's maybe like religion, most don't care what your religion is, or isn't, but would prefer you practice it without doing so in a public format, Tebow!! Personal choice is still permitted on either side isn't it? The players choice, and fans choice to like it, or not.

So…if it doesn’t affect our enjoyment of the game and therefore, nobody proposes to do anything about it…. Then maybe (just maybe) it’s a topic and discussion that more properly belongs on the MU board rather than on this board. Since (to state the obvious) the topic of this board is OSU Womens Basketball. (On the other hand, folks come on this board to gripe about cold hot dogs or pep band song repertoire, so I guess it’s all grist for the proverbial mill).

I didn't get to watch the 2nd half very well as there were major distractions going on. The game was on, but I will be the first to say I couldn't tell you much about 2nd half play. And that makes 2 of us as I basically missed the whole game due to family distractions----I much prefer the evening games. I'm hoping thickhead or beavsteve was able to get a copy of the game and posts a link for us to watch! CSUB links can be downloaded but not yet ready to play online.... One halfThe other half

Thanks for the videos. I can only get the first three quarters and then it just stops. I'll try it again later.

Don't you like the posts here that tells you what Scott is thinking with each move he makes.

I finally was able to watch the 4th period. A couple points I noticed.
Mannen played well over half of the first period, she relieved TVO. We all know that she can shoot, the thing in starting to like about her game is how she brings the ball up the court. There is no screwing around, she hustles up the court and her defender doesn't have a chance to harass her. She is also getting better on defense. She is still helping out, maybe a bit to much, but has learned to keep an eye on her player and had been much better about being back to her.
AJ is playing at a 5* level on both ends of the court. Dare I say she is what we all hoped Jasmine would be.
Greta is improving every game and by pac 12 play she should be difficult for other teams to contend with.
Taya is our senior, ok junior, leader. I really hope she returns next year. She is playing like that leader. On defense and rebounding she has been dominate so far and I think she is only going to get better as she figures out her new leadership role.
Kennedy and Taylor have a connection on the court, their high low pass is a thing of beauty.

Agree believeinthebeavs, AJ is a great replacement for Jaz and Savanna, has the athleticism of both, maybe not as freakin' fast down the court, but close enough and can jump, high, quickly. The best part , she has the confidence Jaz never seemed to get and it is paying off.
