I would guess you'd really have to work at it not to be in form against Clarke. What is Clarke? Is it a school in Kent, Ohio?

Arizona started slow against CSUN today, but no blowing them out.
I don't know if OSU was ever in the mix, but Aaronette Vonleh looks good. Entered the game fairly late, then quickly got into double figures by converting everything she touched. She's BIG. Nobody is gonna push her around. But relatively quick feet, good hands. She already looks better to me than Lauren Ware.

Before ESPN changed rating services, they had Vonleh about #31. After the change, they dropped her to #100.

She finished w/ 14 pts. on 7-8 shooting and 6 boards in fairly limited minutes.

Vonleh had a solid showing in Arizona's first exhibition as well.
ESPN dropped Talia down to number 25 as well. I'm thinking that was a pretty huge mistake as well.......Certainly hoping it is. She looked like the best pre-freshman out there last year.

Most pre-freshmen made almost no impact last year.

FWIW, Idaho St. won the Big Sky last year, thew a scare into Kentucky in the Tourney, brought back almost everybody. Oregon absolutely destroyed them tonight, 91-34. And that was with 2 of their starting guards out w/ injury.

She looked like the best pre-freshman out there last year. Talia had been # 10 and Greta # 12, and Greta got dropped about 20 spots as well. Each was the better number when she committed to OSU. Is this Friday letter of intent day?

I thought Utah was gonna be bad again this year. It's only one game so take w/ a grain of salt, but they hit 19 3's and dropped 105 points on Lipscomb tonight. Maxwell looked like the player we saw her Fr. year, which was much better than her soph season. I didn't think they had any impact newcomers, but several Fr. and transfers look like they could help out.
This was all without Kemery Martin, who was probably their best player last year, and McFarland, maybe their best returning big. Both were in civvies during the game.

Colorado won a grinder @ Oklahoma St. I know nothing about the other OSU this year, but they've been a solid program for a while.
UCLA apparently is without about half of their roster, and trying to survive an absolute 3 point shooting barrage from Pepperdine. Looks like they are taking control after halftime, game was tied at the mid point.

UCLA is the first game I've seen this week with more than a handful of fans, still not much, our 2000+ looks really good now !

Stanford as expected crushed Morgan St. Lots to work on though. Way too many TOs, committed way too many fouls against a team that absolutely could not shoot. They held Morgan St. to 3 made FGs thru 3 quarters. If it wasn't for FTs they wouldn't have been scoring at all.
I think Tara has a problem. 17 players on the roster. Hardly any of them are scrubs. There's simply no way to work that many players into a rotation. 1 wasn't suited up and 1 was a DNP, she got 15 on the floor. Prechtel is a darn good player and only got 5 minutes, didn't even come in until Q3. At some point there have to be some issues w/ playing time don't there?

I often wondered about this playing time question. If a player could play the whole game at lets say Portland State or 5 minutes per game and go to a final four at Stanford and possibly win a national championship which matters more to a player? For me it would be contribute any way I can to help the sum of the parts.
Prechtel could go to CAL and certainly play mega minutes but why? And then with games like these are for finding those backups off the bench.
