Stanford as expected crushed Morgan St. Lots to work on though. Way too many TOs, committed way too many fouls against a team that absolutely could not shoot. They held Morgan St. to 3 made FGs thru 3 quarters. If it wasn't for FTs they wouldn't have been scoring at all. I think Tara has a problem. 17 players on the roster. Hardly any of them are scrubs. There's simply no way to work that many players into a rotation. 1 wasn't suited up and 1 was a DNP, she got 15 on the floor. Prechtel is a darn good player and only got 5 minutes, didn't even come in until Q3. At some point there have to be some issues w/ playing time don't there? I often wondered about this playing time question. If a player could play the whole game at lets say Portland State or 5 minutes per game and go to a final four at Stanford and possibly win a national championship which matters more to a player? For me it would be contribute any way I can to help the sum of the parts.
Prechtel could go to CAL and certainly play mega minutes but why? And then with games like these are for finding those backups off the bench.
Somewhere between Stanford or Portland St./Cal, there are other options. Some teams maybe would be a Final 4 contender w/ 1 more good player.
Prechtel was the hero of the Regional Final last year against Louisville. She's a known commodity, shouldn't be struggling to get PT for the Card.

She, or other key players, didn't "struggle". It's Morgan St. Minor injury/illness, play those who'll not get minutes when it counts. Plus see those 7-12 that could add to the top of the roster. I think the loaded roster answers the question on what's more important to some players. At least those lucky enough to be on the Furd roster.

In Stanford's case, which is very different from most schools, you also have to factor in sticking around for 4 years to get the Stanford degree. That has to be very important to some of their players, and might keep them hanging around when they could start elsewhere.

USC was kinda dinking around with Hawaii, then buried them in the 4th quarter. Trojans, like several other Pac 12 schools, have a lot of size. Ballyhooed Fr. Rayah Marshall had a big debut. She's 6-4 but her range of skills and mobility is more than you'd typically expect for a player that size.
Can't take too much from some of these non con games...but I'm thinking the lower half or even lower third of the conference might have a noticeable lack of truly bad teams.

Once they get their degree, it seems like all their grad transfers go to Notre Dame.

Why is our game so late, 8 pm, and Arizona - Louisville is 1:30 ? I get catering to the east coast audience, wrong as that is, but LMU is west coast, right?

edit--to be fair, the Arizona-Louisville game is kind of a cruddy time even for East Coast time zone. Too early.

We seem to get the late Friday game and then the early Sunday game quite often.

Well, this one isn't being televised, so it makes absolutely no difference what time it starts. I don't understand it either.

It's Dad's weekend. A buddy of mine is heading to Corvallis. One year, I went two VB, men's and women's basketball, and football between Friday night and Sunday afternoon. I'm happy my daughter graduated from OSU but I miss this weekend.

AZ giving Louisville a game, going into overtime, very intense defense from AZ, anxious to see how we deal with it.
