Actually it was pork. What a shame. If what she said about no build up in her system is true it casts enough doubt that a 4 year suspension seems a bit much.

OSU should change shoe companies when the Nike contract is over. It would be interesting who & how much the amount of money would be the bid for Beaver sports in the next contract.

Maybe she's telling the truth. The problem is so many others in her sport were doping and denying it makes it that much harder to believe her.
Must have been a heck of a lot of pork in that burrito.

Especially after Alberto Salazar, anything Nike-sponsored in competitive Track and Field is tainted for some time to come. I think the “PIB” (Performance Enhancing Burrito) alibi is weak. www.google.com/amp/s/www.insidehook.com/daily_brief/sports/nike-coach-alberto-salazar-appeal/amp

Maybe she's telling the truth too though. Probably only a couple people know for sure.

This is stupid. As I understand it, nandrolone is what baseball players and weightlifters use to build muscle. This is Roger Clemens used nandrolone. If you were actually doping to run a distance race, you would use something else. So, Shelby Houlihan is being punished for taking performance-enhancing drugs that do not actually enhance her performance.
This should get overturned and quickly.

It is an anabolic steroid after all. Regarding track uses, Linford Christie, a British sprinter and 1992 Olympic gold medalist, tested positive for nandrolone in 1999.

It is an anabolic steroid after all. Regarding track uses, Linford Christie, a British sprinter and 1992 Olympic gold medalist, tested positive for nandrolone in 1999. The British Athletic Foundation found Linford Christie not guilty. The IAAF overruled the British Athletic Foundation and banned him for two years. The British Athletic Foundation found it unlikely that Linford Christie would intentionally use nandrolone, because it is primarily used to build muscle and would be generally counter-productive to a sprinter. Nandrolone is naturally-occurring in the human body. 19-norandrostenedione is a nandrolone precursor and can produce positive tests for nandrolone without using nandrolone. At the time, 19-norandrostenedione was sold over-the-counter in the United States of America. It is possible that Christie was using 19-norandrostenedione as a supplement without knowing that it could cause a positive nandrolone test.

On a side note, I guess I’ll be eating more pork burritos.

I mean other than there are better shoe companies out there. A year or two ago, this was debated on the boards and someone posted what we get from our deal with Nike. It’s very good. Plus, Nike employs a lot of Oregonians, so it’s good for our state. Do we hate the Nike—UofO connection? Of course.
