I am glad for Him. I hope He does what He wants to do. Things are not open in Oregon and the restrictions have made a mess of life. He served us well and I doubt with political climate He would ever coach Here again. That is just out of the question. Many pluses there. Not 1/4 filled stadiums if You are lucky.

My hunch is that 'political climate' of Oregon has little to do with this. As if the 'political climate' of the deep south is an enticement? Please..... I also wish him the best, and he should go for it if that's the next challenge he wants to take on.

Yes, Pat is going to LSU because of the political climate here. LOL You remember that he retired because of the “political climate” and not because he was burned out, right?

I just can't picture Pat Casey in a purple LSU uni.....it just seems wrong. And those debaucherous fans are the worst! One of their drunken male fans tried to fight a female Beavs fan during the "Kwan foul ball" game.....I can't imagine what game day is like at the Box.

Nick Saban is 69 and is currently under contract until he is 77. Pat Casey is 62 and could easily give you 7-15 years. Or, he could be done after 3-4 years. Always a crap shoot. I read the LSU board. That Hail State guy hits the nail on the head. After the last 18 months, I might be looking for an excuse to move out of Oregon. One of my cousins just moved out 2-3 months ago. Louisiana and Texas have their nice parts. It is all in what you want. A lot of the Louisiana people keep focusing on the fact that he has no ties. People forget that Pat Casey had an eight-year minor league career as a first baseman. He played ball in Beaumont, Texas, in the Texas League for two seasons and Amarillo, Texas, for another season. That was in the old Texas League, which included annual trips to Arkansas, Memphis and Shreveport. He played another season Salem, Virginia (about two hours southwest of Charlottesville) in the Carolina League and played in Maryland, North Carolina and Virginia. 🤯 I wouldn’t take anything some LSU guy says seriously about moving out of state after the last 18 months, especially from Benton County. To each their own but nobody I know would move to Louisiana or Texas because they have their “nice parts”. Big hard no.

Still trying to figure out the nice parts of Texas or Louisiana. I'm coming up with a big No. The big problem with Texas is that it takes too long to drive through it. And if you are headed east you get stuck in Louisiana.

Well I know plenty of long time Oregonians who are leaving, or looking to leave.....like he said, it's all in what you want......not saying that will have anything to do with Pats ultimate decision, but it may play a part.....I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Pat's prolly not a huge fan of leftist policy. I agree with Louisiana and Texas though......no thanks

I am an Oregon native, and I love many things about the state.....taxes, real estate prices, and political direction are not part of those things......but if you live in so cal and you just made 1.5 mill on ur crappy house, western OR might seem like a paradise.

So if this does happen will this place still be called "Casey's Corner"? Full disclosure I'm not a fan of LSU hiring Pat Casey. What was the reason that Casey retired? Health He was mentally and emotionally exhausted after the 2018 season.

Y’all still going to call this forum Casey’s Corner IF he actually takes the gig? I’ll be honest and say my opinion of him will be diminished. I KNOW that opinion isn’t shared by all (maybe very few), and most of you and coach C don’t give a damn about my opinion, but this “feels” s%#tty (to me).
