The fans don't want anything to do with him from what I'm reading......two reasons, age and Heimlich.
My hunch is I don't see Pat wanting to take that job on at this point in his life. If he comes in and has a couple rough seasons he will be roasted. That job is a different animal all together. Maybe I'm wrong.....wouldn't be the first time

To start, the SEC thinks they are the only conference in America that plays baseball. Of course, that belief is buoyed by a compliant and docile NCAA. SEC coaches are cut from the same cloth. They believe in power hitting and power pitching. Small ball, contact hitting, hit-and-run and finesse pitching are foreign down there. It’s one reason SEC teams run into problems when facing pitchers with great movement and off speed stuff. Pat Casey could possibly do well and change a paradigm in the process, (hope this doesn't happen).

There's SEC baseball, and then there's LSU.....just doesn't feel like Pat's style to me. But again, I could be completely wrong.

My vote ( obviously no insight ), is if he is going to go ... it won't be LSU . Very difficult for a man of faith to put up with all of that Southern Horse-s%#tpality ! I see him as a West Coast guy - nothing more, nothing less !

Not the only account I've seen talking about Case being the next coach or an offer formally on the table for him. Am a little surprised that LSU fans are against him, but most are stating they're worried about how much he really wants to be coaching and if he'll be fully committed. Did not see a single mention of LH from my social media scourings this morning.

Good for him, if true. I'm sure the LSU fans will embrace Jon just as OSU fans have.

I wish Pat all the best in whatever choice he makes but I pray that he chooses to remain here. I doubt the Athletic Department and especially the baseball program will ever find someone quite as good at what Coach Casey/Administrator of Relationships is good at. It's just does LSU want a superior 5 year placeholder, or do they really feel Case can give them continuity for many years to come?
