I hope you have enjoyed your downtime from being head coach of a top tier college baseball team. I hope you are bored in your current posotion PLEASE COME BACK as Head Coach! Sincerely, FTd So what do you think Mitch is missing? I’m curious. All you guys seemed pretty stoked when he was hired, but you’ve turned on him pretty quickly. He was apparently a big part of the first two National Championships. (I was in Japan then, so I missed them.) In my opinion, Mitch is simply missing the experience. I assume he knows Casey method and style. I figure he just needs to develop a bit. Taking over a national program is probably pretty challenging.

The anti-Canham crowd has the patience of a 4 year old and the emotional stability of my mother in law.

I get it. I loved Casey as head coach, and I’d love to see him come back, but he’s gone and we have to move on. I don’t know Canham, but I don’t think he’s doing a bad job. He’s got a lot to learn, but he’ll only do that with time and experience. I want him to succeed because I know he wants to succeed.

Canham is young, but he will be a very good manager by the time his career here is over. And he will have a very long and successful career despite what some of these Debbie Downers think. Pat didn’t think Yeskie was ready to be a head coach. Pat felt different about MC.

Mitch would look a lot better as a coach with the '17/18 roster. Daniel Susac decommiting left a big hole at the C position & a good bat. I don't know if the other decommits would help but Susac was a gut punch. Even Saint Pat had some years where the team did not play well or advance in the playoffs. But when things came together (roster/schedule/injuries) he could get them over the top.

I hope you have enjoyed your downtime from being head coach of a top tier college baseball team. I hope you are bored in your current posotion PLEASE COME BACK as Head Coach! Sincerely, FTd This after they came from behind and scored eleven runs to win. Yes, I mean win. WIN WIN WIN WIN! Let's see, this year the pre-pubescent fan club has questioned JSmith's capacity to coach until the team won the Civil War; wanted Tinkle fired, until the team made it to the elite eight; began questioning Rueck's competence when the team started 3-5 until they made it the Big Dance. You see a trend here? GTFU, people.

I admit Mitch,in my opinion,I thought, was a very good hire. The problem for Mitch is we don't have Trevor,Adley,Gretler,Grenier,Etc with any eligibility left. I talked to Mitch's dad a couple years ago,and he said it would take a few years for Mitch to get his kids in the program and for the staff to gel.
We all have seen incredible success over the last 15 years under Casey, which would be impossible for anybody to match. What coach can come in here without the elite players we had and turn this team into one that is Omaha bound? We lost one...maybe two recruiting classes that included some elite talent after Pat retired...Gilbert to Tennessee...Susac x2,Grant to uo and many others. It will take time for Mitch to finalize his staff and get talent on board. None of us is patient...I just hopes it comes sooner rather than later. Some of the failures are on the coaches, but the players are equally responsible. You can teach all you want...its up to the players to execute. BTW...Pat isn't coming back. Let's cut Mitch some slack and enjoy the good moments...

For continuity I wish Bailey could have stayed for a couple of years. I also don’t think we should be relying on LBCC for future recruiting. One or two athletes are fine.

Agreed about LBCC except Melton...he has elite potential with power and speed. I like Mitch, but I think the staff will be a work in progress until they can get their kind of kids. This staff hasn't worked together very long, and Mitch has never coached at the PAC.12 level in college. Let's get covid over so we have some normalcy in practice and continuity.

I find your LBCC comment interesting considering our best hitter played there last year. I really don’t care where he gets the players from, as long as they are good.

Fire Tinkle.....Fire Canham......crowds one in the same? Some people are just impossible to please. It’s two different situations. One coach was in his 7th year, the other is in his first full year.

In fact, somewhere they acknowledged their over-reactive ways. Google To Fat Ukrainians!

And the very good ducker pitcher was from LBCC.
