Yes, but if she wants to play on a team that puts up more shots per game, that is her choice. Yes, that would be her choice. But that isn't what she said. She said she wanted to be closer to her family. She did NOT say "I want to put up more shots". Or anything close to that. She said she wanted to "get out on the break", meaning she wants to play more up-tempo which leads to more shots.

Most popular phrase in 12 pages? “Let’s move on.” Funny

Most popular phrase in 12 pages? “Let’s move on.” Funny I’m tired of hearing about moving on. Let’s move on.

That she really wanted to play in a controlled half-court environment. Let it go. Boo Hoo and all.

Destiny took less shots per game in Arkansas high tempo offense (11.7/game) than she did in her final season at Oregon State (12.5/game) despite playing about two minutes more/game at Arkansas. Destiny’s assist numbers were also down.
Arkansas as a team, though, averaged 63 FGA to Oregon State’s 56 FGA. There is no question they play a faster brand of basketball. It’s more appealing to a lot of recruits, but also provides unreliable post season results (ex. getting trounced by awful Wright State team).
I could see it being a combination of playing style and distance to home that led Goforth back to Arkansas, but I think distance to home was the deciding, larger factor.
I’ll hope Sasha has all the success in the world, but probably won’t find myself rooting for a Neighbors coached team to win often.

beaverwbb fan - -good research that produced some very interesting information. These are the kinds of numbers I NEVER would have predicted when Destiny announced she was headed to Arkansas. Destiny is not a super-star, but it looks to me like Neighbors did not get maximum mileage out of her abundant skills.... GO BEAVS!!

There's no doubt in my mind her decision was based almost totally on distance from home and missing family (in particular Dad). As for styles of Basketball, I still maintain that the Oregon State game fits Sasha very well. She would of been a real star for the Beavs, and probably will for Arkansas as well, but I won't really be paying attention. Her and Jersey should make a very good combo though. Let's see how Neighbors handles it.

Very good interview, and clears up a lot of questions, but opens up some others . She states she called Neighbors the day after she entered the portal, to gauge his interest still in her. She also has good things to say about Rueck's staff and how much she learned at OSU about basketball. The troubling aspects are " she likes to get out and run on the break, and she likes to shoot", indicating Scott's offensive philosophy was too constraining...and could send up a red flag to future recruits. All in all, it sounds like she just got homesick, missed living near family and friends, and being comfortable in familiar surroundings. Good Luck to Sasha. Sort of like Destiny, eh? OMG! Get a grip and leave her be.

This topic has been run into the ground. Sasha was here, now she's not, and nothing's going to change that. She seems a nice kid with a lot of talent, but now she's just another player on another team that isn't even in our conference.
If we play them sometime in the NCAA tournament, I'll start reading some about her again. Barring that, I'm done with this topic.
