Proof that parents read your comments; whether it's here or on other social media outlets. Also, we have parents/relatives/friends of other student/athletes in all sports as registered members. Some post. Yikes that it even got elevated to that level where a parent has to defend his daughter from attacks. Does not look good for the fan base in general but that trend started with Destiny leaving. Got real ugly at that time too. I’m sure every fan base has a “small subset” of fans that are like that. From Oregon, to UConn, to Maryland, to Arkansas, and everyone else in the country. I think his comments about how the fan base was second to none was more than enough to off-set it.

I have not seen or heard anything from coach SR, have there been any comments from him, the school, teammates? Curious to find out how he was told, when he was told, before or after the season. Were there any discussions after he was told of Sasha leaving? I get she's gone, fine, her choice, good luck, except where the Beavs are concerned and hope if that happens, the Beavs stomp on ya. This has to be a gut punch for SR and the team I would think... Did the Hogs coach contact her before this?? We hardly knew ya!!!

No he didn't! Why do people always look for the bad in every other coach that isn't at Oregon State. Not everything is a conspiracy. He didn't have to contact her. Thats why the portal was started

I'm not a fan of Neighbors but I'd highly doubt it. Sasha's family lives within walking distance of the campus. She probably attended more Arkansas WBB games than Aleah went to OSU WBB games. I'd imagine the contact came from Goforth to Neighbors and not vice versa. And I also highly doubt you'll ever hear Scott Rueck comment on it one way or the other.

He'll comment on it when he has to, just as he did with Destiny. Don't expect some kind of statement until a journalist brings it up.

Very good interview, and clears up a lot of questions, but opens up some others . She states she called Neighbors the day after she entered the portal, to gauge his interest still in her. She also has good things to say about Rueck's staff and how much she learned at OSU about basketball. The troubling aspects are "she likes to get out and run on the break, and she likes to shoot", indicating Scott's offensive philosophy was too constraining...and could send up a red flag to future recruits.
All in all, it sounds like she just got homesick, missed living near family and friends, and being comfortable in familiar surroundings. Good Luck to Sasha.

Going back home to Arkansas was a no brainer especially during covid. Let's all move on and look forward to a very solid team going forward. I'm sure Scott wasn't blindsided by Sasha moving on...

She took the second-most shots on the team. No one was constricting her.

She took the second-most shots on the team. No one was constricting her. Yes, but if she wants to play on a team that puts up more shots per game, that is her choice.

I have more Beaver bias than the average fan, however, in 90% of the cases where I want to comment, I leave the players name out of the discussion- and, I don't think I have ever mentioned the parents or siblings. The only totally different situation that I recall having to do with Colt Lyerla. That was a horrible story from beginning to end and you are always hoping that that kid finds himself before there is irreparable damage ! Exercising restraints and not leveling criticism is a great way to go. I certainly feel bad about both Sasha and Savannah leaving, But, we can't possibly relate to those things that impacted her decision, so it is best just to say ' Thanks for being a Beaver, and we ALL wish you the very best on your new Journey ! You are a bright star and competitor, and thanks to your parents for allowing her to make her own decisions!

But that isn't what she said. She said she wanted to be closer to her family. She did NOT say "I want to put up more shots". Or anything close to that.
