That tweet by her father is so well written and lays it all out very clearly. I am a bigger fan of her family that I was before, hate that she left, hope we will forget this period because the rest of the team distracts us with their success !

Yep that's me to a "T". I am an old fart that believes in honesty, integrity and full filling your promises and commitments. If I said I would do it then it would get done. A handshake or a promise is a bond. I was proud when my employees said that they knew where I stood and would not vacillate. One of the functions of my position I with my company was interviewing potential employees for initial level management positions (eventually for mid-level managers) for a large nationally known company. One of the first questions I would have asked Sasha would be about her reason for transferring (changing jobs) and if she would said I was home sick....No need to proceed! I am very proud of the people that I recommended and were selected several of which were promoted to prominent positions in the company. Got news for you...it's though adversity that you show your true "grit" (thought you might like me using that word). She is not the only one that faces adversity because of the covid. Nothing has changed about Scott's offense; Oregon is still liberal; Arkansas is the same distance away; several players that are further away from home then Sasha. She reneged on her promise and commitment. Enough said!

Proof that parents read your comments; whether it's here or on other social media outlets.
Also, we have parents/relatives/friends of other student/athletes in all sports as registered members. Some post.

And she did. HER promise kept.

Obvious She wants to play for Family. Also Oregon is one of the most extreme Lock Down Left Wing States without a doubt. That culture could work against us when the player is from a more Conservative area like Arkansas. The portal is to easy and we will have to deal with it and fill the roster. This effects all schools. I wish Her well. beavercleaver is that you?

Some post. Yikes that it even got elevated to that level where a parent has to defend his daughter from attacks. Does not look good for the fan base in general but that trend started with Destiny leaving. Got real ugly at that time too.

Are scholarships reviewed every year by the program and pulled for players that don’t pan out? Should SR pull Aquino’s scholarship? Pac-12 scholarships are guaranteed for four years. They cannot be pulled for performance reasons. AA still might be on a WBB scholarship. If not, she is on a medical hardship scholarship, the same as is provided for athletes from other sports who suffer career-ending injuries.

I think her scholarship was for more than one year. Let me leave with a quote "People with integrity do what they say they are going to do. Others have excuses" (Laura Schlessinger) or David Jeremiah "Integrity is keeping your commitments even after circumstances have changed." I for one is sick and tired of the "portals" it is ruining college sports a lot like free agency has affected MLB.

Some post. I'm sure most parents read, most also know better than to engage. Prodding people in both fan bases seems pretty foolish. And if my comments are in the bucket of fan's he targeting, I'll say this; if this is simply a 'homesick' decision, then there is indeed a risk of handicapping her emotional maturity by supporting/encouraging changing the environment rather than changing the person - many difficulties in life can't be fixed by changing the former, and people can wander through life repeatedly trying that as a solution. That's their decision, and should not be taken lightly, so I hope that part of his statement is true. And as far as a commitment, it's not just to the program, a lot of athletes make their decision based on who their teammates will be - so it's very possible her teammates feel salty; I know I would as a member of a team. I'm welcome to a better 'perspective' here that I'm missing, as I'd say what I'm saying regardless of whether I had an emotional vested interest or not.

It's time to move on. Stop calling each other names and belaboring this issue. She has every right to change her mind. It's done, it's over.
GO BEAVS!
