OSU can be plenty picky. There are many talented players out there. But, you need them to fit your style and that doesn't always equate to *level or made up portal rankings.
OSU hasn't "missed out" on anything but recruiting. Can't really name a "highly ranked" portal transfer let alone one OSU beat out another elite team?!
The portal has been "filler" for OSU as we've has a recruited roster that was very solid. Scott and the staff know the times. They're not mind readers, but anyone could have foretold some losses. To not have any HS signees was a mistake that's now magnified. Not only holes to fill, but no chance to develop some younger talent that might stay since they're entering in the WCC era.
