I understand your point. However, as good as that Final 4 team was in 2016....it wouldn't come close today in making the Final 4! Women's basketball in 2016 is not quite what it is in 2023! Oregon State was lucky that they got in on being good at the early stages of women's basketball taking off! But...I'm not saying either that it takes a bunch of 5* players to become elite. You’re right Bob,because of NIL and the way UConn,South Carolina,LSU,etc can buy the players off of other teams rosters. I don’t expect osu to be a contender for a final 4 run like they were for a stretch. Make the tournament in a brutally tough conference, and be able to compete most years in the tournament. The landscape certainly has changed… I don't know about UConn but TCU managed to convince two players who'd decided to retire to change their minds. That's got to take some serious cash.

How is arizona still recruiting for 2024? Supposedly picked yp three 2024 guards quoting oregon live rhat is. Why does oregon live care about that ? Everyone is... The '24 season is months away... recruits have a signing period (April 17-May 15??) plus the upcoming portal period. Dead periods April 4-8, recruiting shutdown May 6-12, then two dead periods.. one in June and July. As far as I know: Early signing period: November 8-15, 2023 Regular signing period: April 17 – May 15, 2024 From other sites: Dead period and recruiting shutdowns: During the dead period, coaches may not have any in-person contact with recruits or their parents. But communication is still allowed to occur via phone, email and social media or other digital communication channels. A recruiting shutdown, on the other hand, means no forms of recruiting are permitted, including contact with college coaches, evaluations, unofficial or official visits, correspondence and making or receiving phone calls. August 14-20, 2023: Recruiting shutdown December 24–26, 2023: Dead period April 4-8, 2024: Dead period May 6-12, 2024: Recruiting shutdown June 11-12, 2024: Dead period July 10-18, 2024: Dead period Quiet period: During a quiet period, athletes can talk to college coaches in-person on their college campus. However, the coach can’t watch recruits compete in-person, visit their school, talk to them at their home or anywhere outside of the college campus. August 1-31, 2023 (Except recruiting shutdown Aug. 14-20, 2023) April 9-18, 2024 (Expect evaluation period April 22-May 5, 2024 May 13-16, 2024 May 20-June 10, 2024 June 16-July 9, 2024 July 23-31, 2024 Evaluation period: Also known as a live period, the evaluation period is the specific time of year when college coaches can watch an athlete compete in person or visit their school. But coaches can’t communicate with recruits (or their parents) off the college campus. October 1, 2023 – February 29, 2024 (only scholastic events) April 19–21, 2024 (only certified non-scholastic events) May 17–19, 2024 (only certified non-scholastic events) June 13-15, 2024 (only scholastic events) July 12-15, 2024 (only certified non-scholastic events and institutional camps) July 19–22, 2024 (only certified non-scholastic events and institutional camps) July 26–29, 2024 (NCAA College Basketball Academy only) Contact period: During the contact period, all communication between athletes and coaches is fair game. September 1-30, 2023 (seniors only) March 1–April 3, 2024 (seniors only)

To not lose momentum. Honestly, they need to schedule some bigwigs for the year after and have non-stop publicity around it so they can show they're still at the elite level. Beating up the WCC isn't going to make as big of an impression.
Or we could just have our collectives put more money into women's basketball.

Beavers need to get something done on the recruiting trail this year ! Why? Indeed...2025-26 recruiting is paramount. But 2024-25...Why? With no Seniors on the 2023-24 squad, and if no players transfer OUT, and under the assumption that Yepes redshirt year will be behind her (and she'll be on the active roster next season), that would be 13 roster players next season. So, the "why" for 2024-25 becomes - ONLY need to add a player(s) for 2024/25 between now and Fall 2024 if 1 or more players leave via the portal. An Unknown. Maybe Rueck knows something we don't.

Pretty sure he knows more than we do about the portal and recruiting.

Looks like she may have visited both OSU and Arkansas. Arkansas has had a similar off season to OSU.

Looks like she may have visited both OSU and Arkansas. Arkansas has had a similar off season to OSU. What confuses me is how come if we lost so many players and may 1 the last for recruiting transfers have we only gotten one player? Seems strange to me? May 1st is the last day players can enter the portal and the last day schools can contact players in the portal. However, there is no NCAA deadline on when players have to decide where they are transferring. Because OSU went to the elite 8 and players did not enter the portal until midish April that meant OSU got a late start on recruiting the portal. There are still plenty of players available in the portal for them to fill out the roster. Unfortunately, most of the top transfers are already committed, according to ESPNs top 25 transfer portal list 21 are committed. At this point in time OSU can't be too picky about who they bring in, they need bodies to fill out the roster.
