She was definitely my favorite 2024 recruit, but I never gave the Beavs a shot. Obviously, the events of the past week will make it even more difficult to land top recruits. Based on what we've seen lately, I'm not sure the Beavs are up to the task. The hiring of Aleah is a big boost, but now there is a lot to overcome.

Down to four remaining on the board after Avery Howell's top-5. She visited OSU but was never offered.

Based on what we've seen lately, I'm not sure the Beavs are up to the task. The hiring of Aleah is a big boost, but now there is a lot to overcome. There has to be a sense of urgency to resolve the future of Beaver Athletics as the impact on recruiting could be severe to the future of our athletic programs. Heard a great interview with the MW Commissioner--she is a sharp individual. Hopefully, we get closure soon. |

So far as I can tell OSU is not in the running for any of the listed prospects. It is entirely possible that everyone will be coming back next year so it will not be a disaster. But I hope that can pull another overseas rabbit out of the hat.

I know the transfer portal can be a recruiting source, but would like to see us bring in at least one (1) 2024 top recruit. With all that is going on with the PAC-2, it wouldn't be a good look to have a goose egg (0) on the 2024 recruiting |

I think the conference in limbo is used as a recruiting tool against us. Regardless of what is really true they will say "You don't want to play in the MWC , do you?" Lotrader said it earlier that this conference issue needs to be resolved urgently. |

Until there is some clarity associated with conference, none of the players that the Beavs had been recruiting will commit. I don’t blame them at all. Who would commit to the unknown when each have multiple other known (and good) options.
2024 recruiting is essentially frozen, unless Rueck opts to go for lesser regarded players. If not, the class will be empty. 2025 may be as well.
Recruiting from the portal will be necessary and more important than ever.

With the entire roster set to return, it makes sense that the class of 2024 won't have many if any HS recruits. I would guess, we'll lose a couple to the portal if we end up in the MWC. And sadly, those losses will likely be a couple of the big names. And if that's the case, which I sure hope it isn't, coach will need to land some girls in the Portal himself.
Moral to the story, we're not getting any big time high school recruits while we're in limbo between leagues. And in the long run, if we become an MWC team, they're going to need to lean on both their foreign connections and dominate the Northwest high school girls who love Oregon State and want to play close to family and friends.

If some of you in this thread are right about the recruits shying away from OSU because of the lack of clarity regarding the conference, doesn't that imply that they would not be interested unless the Beavers were at least still in the Pac-12 or another power conference?
If they had no reason to think that OSU might be in the MWC in whatever form or title, why would they dismiss joining the Beavers?
There are some on this board who are pushing the idea of OSU and WSU joining with the MWC as the new Pac while dismissing the notion that it would have any real effect on recruiting.
Maybe we're seeing some early results that point to what will really happen.
