The simple math of four seniors graduating, two recruits signed, one player with an ACL repair needed that has not been undertaken as yet, another player with a hamstring repair that hopefully will be ready to train this summer, one 6'9" two-year medical redshirt uncertainty, and one 6'9" player who sat out this year due to a knee issue all combine to lead one to the belief that additional recruiting reinforcements for next season are needed.
It would appear that the roster could use an additional infusion of two if not three players to provide some additional options for the Beavs in '20-'21. Don't want to see a situation again in which only four players 6'1" and above are available to compete for the Beavs.
I believe that the Beavs will be open to transfer portal recruitment options for next season more than they have in the past.

I hate to say it... but 2020-21 could be a very important season for this program in terms of Pac12 relevance for the next 3-4 years. There are some HUGE holes to fill, injury question marks, possible departure of a Jr starter, and having to build basically a new chemistry with multiple new pieces. OSU will have some good building blocks, but this league is returning a ton of talent and OSU is already 10-8 and a 5th place team. Damn cycles...

The odds of having four bigs of 6'3" and above not being able to finish the season were low. The team knew that Aquino might be doubtful for this season, but the injuries to Corosdale, Brown, and Mitrovic have implications beyond this season.
I agree with baseba1111 that next season may be a transitional/rebuilding year for the program unless one or two impactful grad transfers arrive in Corvallis by this fall.

Destiny didn't walk with the other seniors, so I'm guessing for now she's planning to stay. With Taylor at post and Taya at the four, Jaz at the 3, and Destiny and Aleah switching at the one and two. Sasha backing up two and three. I don't see HUGE holes, but I do see a whole new team dynamic that won't have the advantage of an Italian vacation to bring the team together and work things out.

If Destiny doesn't return, or if there are additional injuries, then I'll look at next year differently, otherwise I fully expect this team will be to be a top four in the Pac next year. A big concern will be depth, but the starters will be very solid. I even feel confident going out on a limb on this one.
10-8 this year doesn't really concern me either. We all know that all those losses were close and that 10-8 could have easily been 12-6,11-5,or better. Yes, the best player from this team will be gone, but the Beavs have lost their best player several times, and other contributors return. Usually when that happens those close losses one year turn in to wins the next season. Things will need to go right (no injuries, Destiny returns, and young players develop) but if they do, this team will challenge next season, and I expect that to happen. Check with me in about 10 months.
I might add, I do expect there will also be one additon that will be immediately eligible next year, and maybe more.

Purely speculation at this point, but I'm thinking the Beavs are keeping a close eye on who enters the transfer portal. I see that a coach or two have already started following a couple players from Bowling Green, which I doubt they would do unless the players have entered the portal. I don't know that to be a fact, but Bowling Green's season ended on Monday, and the coaches just started following them. The two players are Caterrion (Rion) Thompson, 5-10 guard, and Andrea Cecil a 6-1 guard/forward. Both of them can shoot the 3. Both players look to be seniors next year as they each missed a year due to injury.
It's early. I expect to see the Beavs take a look at a number of transfer possibilities, so I wouldn't expect to see any transfer news right away, but it does look like the Beavs are showing interest in who is going to be available this off season, and I would expect a guard/wing type person and even a big would both be possibilities. With a number of current team members injured, and 4 graduating, depth is an issue next season.

more speculation.....especially with the Destiny news... Point Guard Katie Benzan picked up some interest from the Beavs staff. Katie was a star at Harvard who decided to redshirt the 2109-2020 season and transfer to Texas as a grad transfer for the 2020-2021 season. She supposedly signed an 'Athletic Scholarshlp Agreement' to play for Texas this upcoming season. I haven't researched deeply, but I haven't found any information on whether she changed her mind, or if she still planned to attend Texas. All I know for sure is our staff is paying attention. She really was a very good player for Harvard. If you are bored enough, here's a little information on her. Personally, I don't think this means the Beavs have been in contact, or that there is any mutual interest, I just think it is another sign that the staff is keeping their eyes open, and we can expect some pickup before next season. ivyhoopsonline.com/2019/08/28/katie-benzan-leaves-harvard-basketball/www.thecrimson.com/article/2019/10/28/kb-texas-announcement/texassports.com/news/2019/11/13/womens-basketball-signs-five-for-2020-21.aspx

May have something to do with this.

A financial aid agreement, like she signed, is not binding to the athlete. Athletes can sign as many as they want. It binds the team, but not the athlete. It's entirely different than an LOI, hence the note in the story.

Loretta Kakala, who was the #25 player in the class of 2017, and at 6'2-3" the number two rated post player has entered the transfer portal. She is friends with Aleah and Kat, and is followed on twitter by SR and JC. I'm thinking Scott and Jonas recruited her out of High School, but she didn't appear to have big interest in the Beavs and chose Louisville.
She's had a troubled career. She played 4 games for Louisville as a Freshman with injuries, and decided to transfer to Pacific University. Because she transfered late, she wasn't eligible until mid season. She didn't play much this past season, only averaging about 8 minutes a game and wasn't with the team for a while because of disciplinary reasons.
She was a McDonalds all american out of high schoolm but college hasn't worked out for her. She's already sat out a year and a half, played a year and a half, so it seems she could only transfer somewhere if she could be immediately eligible, as her redshirt year has beeen burned. I don't know that she would be eligible to play for the Beavs, or if they would even be interested, but hey, right now, there is not a lot else to talk about. Covid 19 talk is getting to my brain.

Hard pass on Kakala. Hasn't worked out at 2 different schools. Not very productive. Why even take a chance?

Chloe Bibby is transferring from Mississippi State. She is a 6-1 Junior SF/PF who is from Australia. Had a very good year in 18-19, but regressed a little in 19-20 after recovering from an ACL tear (she even tore it after Kat). Would be a really solid addition, plus she could have a great shot at immediate eligibility.

I see BH has already started following Chole on Twitter. I'm sure he has seen her before, as he seems to be the Beavs main recruiter for Australia.
I'm guessing that, like Kat, she did not receive an extra year of eligibility. If that's true, she will be a senior wherever she lands.
I think we can learn a lot from girls like Kat, Provo, and Chloe, in that they were able to return the next season, but they didn't make it back to the level they were before. Looking back, I really wish Kat would have redshirted last season. She would probably be much more ready this coming year. I hope Kennedy doesn't feel rushed.....of course, I'm still doubting there will be a WBB season this fall.

When you see three players who were at the level of Kat, Chloe, and Provo not return to the level they were at, you definitely realize that it takes more than nine months for these ladies to return to the level they were at. I believe Kennedy is planning to redshirt after seeing what happened with Kat, and how she just struggled all season. Chloe had a really good freshman season (shot 45% from three) before getting hurt. Played the three as a sophomore and the four as a junior at Mississippi State, so she can definitely play both. She appears to have played all season with a bulky brace. She would be a really solid addition, particularly if we could get her eligible in 20-21.
