This team is missing that fire they have had the last several years. I wonder why. I was thinking the same. This year, the ducks seem to have the usual fire we've had at the civil war games. Just the intensity, running for the loose balls, rebounds, etc. They really wanted it. Usually our players (and many were in the winning team last year) had it.

Sabrina Ionescu, Gary Payton and Andrea Aquino.
How does that song go..”One of these things is not like the others...”
Which is why I qualified my statement with, "I have no idea ..." about AA.
But until (if) she ever plays, how do you know that she wasn't the best player on the team?
I'm sure Lew Alcindor was the best player at UCLA before he ever played in a varsity game, too. It's highly unusual but certainly not unprecedented.

The bookstore closed across from Gill yesterday is a sign of a major problem with beaver sports. Its called a lack of marketing.

How awesome was it that the bookstore, directly across the street from Gill was closed? Apparently it's normally not open on Sundays, but how about open it on Sunday if it is a game day? This drives me crazy! Happened to us once for the men’s Bb CW. Just inept.

Wow... thinking on your level, next year we have the two best players on OSU WBB history. Not even completed HS but they could be! Lol

Bookstore was open Sunday, at least after the game. And an hour before the game. Opened at 12:00. Game tipped at 1:10.

Wow that should be plenty of time to find your stuff, pay for it, get it to your car (unless they give out clear bags at the store), get back to Gill, get through security and find your seat. First you said the Bookstore was not open. It was. Then you said it wasn't open before the game. It was. It was also open afterward, for an hour. When you hit bottom, quit digging. PS: OSU Bookstores, Inc., is an independent organization and is not associated with the athletic department. I think it also runs a souvenir booth inside Gill.

The actual talking point was someone being the best player on the team as a freshman, not being the best player in school history. I know it's hard for you, but please try to stay on topic.
When Jacoby Ellsbury arrived in 2003 he was the best player on the baseball team as a freshman. There are tons of other examples. Zion Williamson at Duke? Lonzo Ball at UCLA? Etc., etc.

You dug a hole trying to escape with your other examples who actually did play in games... varsity or not they actually played. Again, since your slow... using your inane thought process was the key info... players not yet even at OSU could indeed be the best player... team or history. So, by your reply I can see you agree... pretty lame assertion on your part. But, you can always hope she does play, turns out great and use your BS skills to say you knew it the whole time! Lol... first JE wasn't the best player immediately. That is a clueless, 20/20 hindsight remark based on how he turned out. Second... keep digging the hole you do proudly mentioned to another poster... those mentioned all actually played! Do ya get it the difference yet? Holy s%#t take off the righteous blinders.

Her is the exact statement, from the OP:
"Well if we want to get dreamy eyed. I've heard from someone who knows about their practice that their best player is AA (sigh). And yes, that's with her never playing in a D1 game, but in my dreams I can do what I want and so there."
Clearly stating he's been told the AA, who has yet to play a game, was the best player on the team. Something that can probably never be proven or disproven, since she might not ever play.
It was never said that someone who isn't even at OSU was the best player on the team. Keep moving those goalposts, old man.
And sorry, Jacoby hit .330 as a freshman, led the team in runs and steals and outfield chances, was second in home runs, third in RBIs and played one of the most difficult defensive positions on the field. But you're right, he wasn't as good as Seth Pietsch, Tony Calderon or Chris Biles.
Had you even watched a game at Goss, or talked to Pat Casey at that time, you'd have heard it straight from the coach's mouth.
Talk about LOL.
