What I see the difference between UO and OSU right now is play making ability. Simply, they have more elite-level players than we do that can create their own offense. Sabrina is Sabrina and she's an anomaly. But, both Sabally and Hebard can create their own shot, especially Sabally. I love Taylor but she appears to me to be making a living with put-backs. She really doesn't seem to have an impressive bag of moves to go to or quicks with her back to the basket. I did see her tonight, though, show a little bit of a move that I hadn't seen before. Shot-creating ability is where I see our offense struggling right now. We really only have 1 player-Destiny, maybe 2-Mik, that can create their own shot, break down their defender when they need to.The Ducks have 3 can I can count. Until we get shot-creators in our program I think we may find limitations to how far we can go. Just another reason why it would of been so nice to land Van Lith. I'm no bball coach, by any stretch, but I would start Jaz in place of Tudor. I'm sure Jaz can shoot the 3 as well (poorly) as Tudor is right now and I believe Jaz has more ability to break someone down off the dribble than Tudor does. My starting five would be Destiny, Mik, Jaz, Taylor, and Brown. Maybe even give Maddie another shot to start in place of Brown just due to more of an offensive threat and Maddie's not a bad defender either. I said this after Friday's game; The Ducks are good this year. The better team won both of these games. It's that simple. Our Beavs are still a good team and will probably still get into the sweet 16. I think anything beyond that will be a nice surprise and maybe a little overachieving. We're still missing some pieces to take sustain our spot in that top 6 or 7 in the country. We've got to close on some of these elite game-changing recruits that we've missed out on. Go Beavs!!! Jones made 13 field goals in two games against Oregon and had a total of two offensive rebounds. She did way more than just score off of put backs. She worked hard for position and both games and was very effective, particularly in game one. Her teammates also do a great job of delivering the ball to her and she does a great job of grabbing it and putting it in. My main issue in the past two games for Taylor was her rebounding. I think she only had 5 combined boards and Hebard was dominant on the glass. I've said this plenty of times and I'll say it again. If I could take any player off of that UO team and make them a Beav, it would be Sabally, easily. Sabrina is a terrific player, but we also have two great playmakers in Mik and Destiny, but a 6'4" wing/forward who can do it all, not this year, unfortunately.

I'll also add, I wonder if the zone would be improved with Mitrovic? She is not quick, but she seems to have a pretty high IQ, and she takes up a ton of space. She also appears to be a pretty good rebounder. We shall see (maybe not until next year though).

Her film is vs inferior competition compared to Pac12 play. She's not even been cleared for contact in practice. So how is her rebounding and IQ apparent? Or wishful thinking?

Well if we want to get dreamy eyed. I've heard from someone who knows about their practice that their best player is AA (sigh). And yes, that's with her never playing in a D1 game, but in my dreams I can do what I want and so there.

Even, if so, games tend to be a bit... just a tad... different than practice! Yeah know different teams, players, coaches, adjustments, speed of play... and all... If you don't play you're not the team's best player.

Ruthy Hebard has played 110+ college games, had four years of intense weight training and off-season and summer conditioning.
Taylor Jones had played in 21 college games, had less than one year of intense weight training and off-season and summer conditioning.
Yet some expect her to favorably match up with Hebard 1-on-1, have her moves, veteran savvy, etc?
Give her time. It took Marie Gulich until her senior year to really figure things out and be the dominating player she could be. TJ will get there much, much faster.
Much of this also applies to Kennedy Brown. She can play. Give her time.

I have no idea if AA, if healthy, would be our best player. But it sure was true when SI showed up for her first practice at Oregon. And when GP showed up for his first practice with the Beavers.

Yes, it appears she has a high BB IQ. You either do or you don’t, and based off of film, she does. It isn’t really something that differs based off of competition. Trish could be playing against high schoolers and I still wouldn’t say she has a high BB IQ. Same for Jo.

That would be amazing in and of itself.
