"Curious who are OSU's remaining top 2020 recruit targets outside of HVL...if any?"
Dalayah Daniels 5* from Garfield and, by everyone's agreement, a top flight prospect..... As I mentioned in another post, I am beginning to wonder if the verbal from Savannah Samuels is a sign that Coach thinks (feels?) he is losing out on either HVL or DD.... GO BEAVS !!

I doubt it because neither Goforth or Samuel is a point guard. They don’t substitute for Van Lith.

As stated previously, OSU currently has 13 scholarship players, including 3 true freshmen, 1 redshirt freshman, 2 sophomores, 3 juniors, and 4 seniors. That means only 9 coming back in 2020, 10 if Tudor gets a 5th year. OSU has a boatload of scholarships they can give. Offering one to Samuel in no way impacts their pursuit of either Daniels or Van Lith.

bvrbooster....the issue is not OSU's pursuit of Daniels or van Lith...... The issue is whether Daniels and van Lith are still in pursuit of OSU....🏀 GO BEAVS !!

411500, your question is a good question, and I certainly don't have the answer. I am thinking though that the recruitment of Savannah is probably more related to not landing any other guards/wings such as Bueckers, Clark, and others that were on their list early. With Jasmine being the only wing/guard in the last two classes, landing a "Savannah" type player was probably high on the Beaver wish list. Although I don't necessarily consider them similar type players, Savannah has the shooting ability to also fill a 'Kat' type of role going forward, and SR has always liked shooters. I've haven't watched that much video of Savannah, but in some videos of her you will see her catch and shoot, which is always a nice quality to have on the team.
Saying all of that, I have no idea how the Beavs stand with HVL or Daniels. Unlike some others on the board, I think the Beavs may be underdogs to land either of them. I REALLY like Daniels game, and there is no doubt she likes the Beavs, but she has some great colleges to choose from, as does HVL. The good news for the Beavs is that Corvallis is closer for their families.
I know the early word is that Daniels would visit in October, but with a home football game this week, you wonder if there may be any WBB recruits in town this coming weekend. Hopefully, beavershoopsfan, or someone else will be able to give us word.

UCLA picked up a commitment from a very talented 6-3 Australia Iosbel Antsey.
Also, Arizona is hosting 5-10 G Leilani Kapinus. She was a consensus top-10 recruit before tearing her ACL.
California, Southern Cal, and Washington State are the only schools without a commit in 2020.

It is generally thought that the Pac has a big three - Stanford, Oregon, & OSU - and that may be true this season.... But UCLA and Arizona are both loading up with legitimate talent....
In the next few years the Pac is going to be an awesome collection of powerhouse teams - even more than it is this year.... All of the current top teams have a gym full of young talent - especially if you count the 2020 recruiting class, which the Ducks totally hammered..And the Beavs are on the verge of scoring big if they can land the talent they are pursuing..
So, it's gonna be a fun ride....
Shifting gears: Maybe someone can figure out how to stage a double-header at the Moda Centre with Oregon and OSU each hosting a name opponent. THAT would make national news and would make for a packed, sold out Moda......Good for both programs......
As I re-read this post I see that it's kinda meandering, made of crooked timber.....Sorry about that...I think I got a case of pre-season jitters.... GO BEAVS !!

Aquino may never put on a beaver uniform. I hope so,but am not counting on it. No inside info. No reason to think that Daniels wouldn't be a priority, and we certainly have room for Van Lith since she would be a huge get. Scott only likes to use 13/15 possible scholarships available. Scott is putting together an elite roster...one that can compete with anyone.

6-6 Shayley Harris is not listed on the UCLA 19-20 roster. She was offered and a top-target for Rueck back in 2018. Close is not very good at developing/utilizing her post prospects. Monique Billings did well there, but it was more because of her superb athleticism.

Harris did not make much of an impact on last year's UCLA team...."Appeared in 12 games as a true freshman … Tallied five points, nine rebounds and one block … Averaged 4.8 minutes per outing."
The reasons for her minimal minutes and low productivity could be numerous, one of which is general lack of basketball talent....BUT, it could also be that her body size and speed just didn't sync with UCLA's upbeat, uptempo, athletic game.... She obviously will land on someone's roster if she's healthy.... Coach Rueck seems willing to take on tall players who have a 2-3 year trajectory before they become a meaningful force. Maybe that's how he saw Shayley Harris.... GO BEAVS !!

Following up on the idea that Arizona is building an impressive collection of talent.....The recruits they are chasing support that idea.
Arizona held their McKale Madness Event this weekend. They hosted Leilani Kapinius (WI), Anaya Boyd (GA) and Ugonne Onyiah (CA). These three are respectively ranked 30, 31, & 34 in the current Hoop Gurlz class of 2020. Arizona already has prize recruit Lauren Ware's verbal.
As mentioned in a previous post, UCLA & Arizona are both recruiting some of the best players in the country....Now, if they are able to sign them is a different issue altogether...But in all likelihood, they will get some of them.
The influx of talent coming into the Pac-12 puts added pressure on Coach Rueck to bring in HVL or DD or both in the current recruiting cycle if he wants to keep his talent level at or above the competition.... GO BEAVS !!

GO BEAVS !! Arizona is new but in my mind they just replace Cal. UCLA has always recruited at a high level. They had the best recruiting class in the country when Jordin Canada came in. Our advantage is Rueck is a much, much better coach than Close.

Yeah, Scott seems to have the leverage against most other coaches out there. A lot of them have 'legacy' pedigrees. Scott earned his position, and, if he continues to build his way, things are still looking up.

Washington picks up a much needed top-100 recruit in Alexis Whitfield, a 6-1 F from Chaminade College Prep; she's ranked #63 in 2020. She is there second commit, as 5-10 G Jayda Noble committed awhile back. They remain in the hunt for top-40 6-2 PF Jordyn Jenkins. 6-8 C Sela Heide also may be considering UW, but not sure.
I believe that leaves 38 uncommitted recruits on ESPN's top-100.
