"Perhaps the greatest high school girls basketball player to come through the state of Oregon
Let's not jump to any conclusions, though. Cindy Brown and Trisha Stevens, to name just two, must think that's pretty funny. Trish Stevens went to my high school...one of the best athletes to ever play sports in Oregon. 4x state high jump champion,all-American in hoops and volleyball. Stanford all-American. Philomath high's finest. Cindy Brown was an all-American at Grant and Long Beach St. great athlete too. Karen Howell at St.Marys was a great one too along with Katy Steding. Although I never saw her play and can't attest to how good she was in her day, 6'3" Trisha Stevens amassed an impressive 2,483 points during her high school career at Philomath. www.opb.org/news/article/oregons-new-no-1/

Totally shifting gears: Doesn't Philomath h.s. currently have a girl basketball player who made All-State as a Frosh? I can't recall exactly where I saw this...but if it's true she might be another star in the making.... GO BEAVS!!
EDIT - found it !! Sage Kramer - 6'1

Trish had 47 points in the state championship for Philomath. On the hall of fame(not sure if Stanford calls it that) team for the Cardinal and won two national titles. Her brother was 6-9 and signed with Cal-Berkeley in 1982.Even Legendary Ralph Miller came to watch Jeff play in his senior year.
Seems like Cindy Brown had a 60 point game for LBS if I remember correctly. Two elite talents.

Not if you saw them both 1111. Saw both... no comp comparing for each era played. To each their own, but LY was a cog (very good) on a VERY VERY talented team that dominated 4A ball. She could have played elsewhere and OCity would have still dominated at that stage. MR was a dominate player in HS on a fairly talented team, but no where near what OCity had for years. Both stellar college careers, but MR is one of only 5 players in UT history with over 1500 pts and 1000 boards.

Some Pac-12 recruiting updates:
USC is hosting three top-50 players on official visits: -- Angel Reese, 6-3 W, St. Frances Academy (MD) [espnW #2] -- Jordyn Jenkins, 6-2 F, Kentridge HS (WA) [espnW #40] -- Elauna Eaton, 5-11 G, Nettleton HS (AR) [espnW #41]
ASU is hosting a top-100 player and Goforth's Banshees teammate: -- Taylen Collins, 6-2 F, Muldrow HS (OK) [espnW #82]
Utah recently hosted a top-80 athlete: -- Peyton McFarland, 6-4 C, Boise HS (ID) [espnW #80]
McFarland is likely the best thing to come out of Idaho since Destiny Slocum.

USC's ability to get OVs from top flight players is hard to figure..Really hard to figure!!🏀
They are not a "winning" program, far from it... They don't have a top flight coach, far from it.... They have terrible attendance at home games.... They have a lot of players who transfer out of the program....
So what is USC selling that they are able to bring in some of the top players in the country for Official Visits?
Angel Reese (ranked #2 nationally) is one of the most pursued players in the country right now. She has offers from everyone who is anyone...Yet she travels 3,000 miles for an Official Visit to a program that seemingly has nothing going for it.....What's the deal? GO BEAVS !!

Angel Reese is best friends with one of their freshman, Endyia Rogers. Also, they’re in LA and they were at Venice Beach - pretty appealing to some HS seniors.
She didn’t begin considering USC until Rogers committed — they weren’t in her top-10 in August 2018, which was before Endyia committed.
I believe Endyia also played AAU for DFW Elite with Elauna Eaton.

I know what you are saying, but I have no problem with good players interested in helping jump start a program (after all, OSU had this good fortune) or rebooting a dormant program. Also, while USC is in a bad neighborhood and LA has lots of problems, the southern California region has a lot of selling points too.

USC isn't just in a bad neighborhood, it's in an abysmal neighborhood. USC attendance isn't just terrible, it approaches nonexistent.
And, most importantly, USC has somehow always been able to sign talented recruits, and then underperform year after year. Here's the ESPN rankings of players they've brought in over the years:
2014 15, 48, 90
2015 18
2016 15, 68
2017 18, 83
2018 59, 71
4 years in a row with a recruit ranked in the top 20, and what has the program accomplished? We didn't get a top 20 recruit out of high school until Aquino, and she ultimately fell out of it. So Brown is the first who actually finished high school in the top 20 and came here right out of high school.
I'm with newduke2. I just don't get it.

I would think the average attendance well under 1000 would completely kill their program. Who wants to play at home in an empty arena? That's so insulting. The underachieving goes back through a number of coaching tenures.

Curious who are OSU's remaining top 2020 recruit targets outside of HVL...if any?

No need to insult USC or their neighborhood or attendance. If we get players great. Many kids prefer a different style than Scott's. That is a fact of life. The catcalls and insults to USC player did not help either. Also we are on the players Scott wants. I feel confident in that. What I was referring to happened 2 years ago.
