They were bodying Taya so much and then ticky tack calls on us.

Jo giving up easy mid rangers for the Wirths. They can sink them too.

Lucky to only be down 1 with the way we are shooting. Hopefully they can catch fire in the second quarter. Gonzaga being very aggressive with pressure and causing lots of turnovers or near turnovers.

Zags reaching and bodying like crazy - need for force the issue, several opportunities to ensure a foul was called and didn't do it. Need to use some of Queen I's tricks here.

This forcing-the-ball-into-Jo plan is gettin' sorta old - because she CAN'T seem to ever pass back out (7 assists in 2 full seasons).

It's the post season folks. If you've watch any other games this is the style allowed.
Either adapt or go home. The hasn't cost a game all year, and won't this one. We've been soft at times all year, and physical play has been OSU's Achilles heel.

Would be helpful to have Destiny back. Katie still can’t buy a shot, neither can Aleah. Maddie was doing a nice job.

Not sure if you're in attendance or watching TV...but, our play isn't aggressive and physical. It's out of position, lack of footwork and finesse reach and grab.

I hate watching Taya bust her butt on defense on one Wirth twin only have her to pass to the other (who JG is guarding) and she gets a wide open jumper.

Obviously not going to outcoach SR, but the lack of early season development of PM, especially when JT went down, baffles me?! I thought she'd be a factor by game 20 or so. It's like a wasted year...

We're forcing them to mostly shoot 15-18' jumpers which generally isn't a bad plan, except they are wide open and hitting them. Glad they ran a bit of zone at the end to mix it up, but I don't expect that's going to work either. Going to have to play better team defense (rotations in particular), or we're going to be at the mercy of them missing shots in the 4Q.
I do like the more aggressive ball movement and subsequent fouling that the Zags had to do as their defense got stretched. Need that to continue. What we haven't seen is the drives into nowwhere land and TOs like we saw last game, fortunately - need to keep that up.

It is my impression that other teams are very effective at getting open mid-range shots against Beaver teams... every year, not just this year. Has anyone else noticed that? Is Rueck’s defensive strategy inherently susceptible to it? At the same time, Rueck seems to under-utilize the mid-range shot.

If Janessa is ready to go, I’d liked to have see some of her in the second half. Jo simply can’t guard the Wirth sisters.

You know, when you get whistled for being physical on one end, and they are letting it go on the other what do you do? You have to sag off. Hopefully Rueck can get them to be more proactive in the 2nd but you can't buy calls.
