OSU was one of the final three or four choices, nike community college was not.
Just saying....

Holly Warlick will reportedly get the boot today, so I guess the new coach will have an effect. If I’m Evina, I’m leaving now.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see Rueck's name be high on Tennessee's list to replace Warlick.

They’d be dumb not to want him, and they likely will try to lure him the some big bucks, but I don’t think (hopefully!) that Scott is going anywhere. He has built up his system here, and is in the midst of doing some really high level recruiting.

I don't even want to think about the possibility of Scott leaving. If this were men's basketball and the big bucks were out there, it would probably be tough to keep him. As is, I don't know that Scott would want to mess up a good thing and leave, unless they were really offering a package that OSU couldn't come close to, and would provide security for the rest of his life. Otherwise, it would be hard to beat what he has built here.
I know she is young, and perhaps hasn't been in the profession that long, but if Scott were to leave, I would give Katie F a good look.
Can't believe we're talking about this....on to the game tonight.

I would have to think that Scott has been one of the most (if not the most) sought after coaches in the country for the last 6 years, and I'm sure he's been approached by others offering more - bigger market, more money, endorsements ... I firmly believe the long term contract he signed last year was, in part, his way of telling other schools he's not interested.
My impression when I met them several years ago was that both Scott and his wife are very grounded, very solid people. I think they want to raise their children in a very positive environment, which Corvallis offers to them, and this is home for them. I would be flabbergasted if Scott left for Tennessee, or anywhere else.

He's not going anywhere. Agree. He's making good money (really good) and has got the job he wants. The Oregon State brand in wbb maybe will soon outshine Tennessee, despite it's storied history. Rueck isn't leaving.

Back to Evina, am not a fan of that press conference. It's fine to take your grievances up the chain of command, but otherwise you transfer and don't burn bridges - like 99% of all the other players who have issues with their coaches do. It did at least seem like she was somewhat conflicted about just keeping her mouth shut and knew she was probably saying too much, but see here as way too much of a risk/reward.

Rueck's contract is through the 2027 year if I remember right. In the past, and most likely still, a trip to the ncaa tournament adds another year to his contract.
His parents would not be able to attend all of his home games at Tennessee, something he has repeatedly said was important to him.
His job here is not finished, there is no ncaa championship banner hanging from the rafters yet.
As he said when he was hired, "I don't want to use OSU as a stepping stone to a program like u conn, I want OSU to be that program".

I also didn't really like the questions the reporters were asking. Obviously they were familiar that she and her mother are unhappy with the coaching staff, and they really led her on with questions regarding the staff.

In defense of Westbrook, the interviewer ask her the question and she answered. I don't think Westbrook was savy enough at her age to know she was being baited until it was too late.
The thing about Vol Nation is that they believe that any coach they offer will jump at the chance to coach for their program. It does carry a lot of advantages but also some built in disadvantages. I personally do not think they can get Scott. Some people value other things besides money.

Scott had to think hard about going from Fox to OSU. I don't think wandering off to Tenn. is in the cards. Scott has a family and if the pay here wasn't up to his needs I don't doubt he'd look around, but I don't foresee that being a problem at his salary.
Westbrook came to Tenn. to try to win a National Championship, not to barely make the tournament and then be booted in the first game. You can't tell from the snippet of video that's going around but I hope she took some of the blame for the season herself. But she's young and didn't say the right thing. It happens when you are young. Maybe even me...naw, probably not.
