Love this mindset from 2021 Talia von Oelhoffen:

As per Payton Verhulst in BeaverBlitz.com: "My plans are to narrow down things by September. The schools that I'm most interested in I will let know."
Here's hoping she announces her top teams soon now that September is here and, most importantly, the Beavs make the list!!
Nice to hear how the Kennedy family and Sasha Goforth are encouraging her to choose OSU!

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Payton, like Greta, not make her list available to the public. Safe to assume Oregon State makes the cut for both.

Coach Jonas liked this tweet from Okikiola “Kiki” Iriafen, an athletic 6-2 top-12 forward in 2021:

Interest appears to have grown between the Beavs and 2021 recruit Breanne Salenbien, 6'3" listed as a wing. Breanne plays AAU ball for the Michigan Mystics and plays high school ball for Lewanee Christian in Michigan. Hoopgurlz has her sitting at number 33 for their 2021 top 60. She's received offers from Michigan, Michigan St, and Marquette among others. Breanne's Dad is her High School coach and she has a sister who is very good as well.
Both Breanne and her Dad are following Beaver coaches on Twitter, as well as the Beaver coaches folling both Breanne and her Dad.

Made the cut for Payton Verhulst: A ton of really good competition. I hope we can get her.

I have not heard much on this board about Talia Von Oelhoffen (2021) the hot shot recruit from the Tri-Cities area in Washington.... She is a Top 10 national recruit....I think I have read before that she has made some contact with OSU... But really, for such a high profile player, not much has been written about her... Anyone out there have an update on her?
We are currently in a real uptick for Washington High School prep talent that probably won't repeat again for several years.... I sure hope we can grab some of it (or all of it) before it's gone....Daniels, Van Lith, and Von Oelhoffen are all 4-5* talent..None of them thus far committed. GO BEAVS !!

I had always included von Oelhoffen in 2021 recruiting updates, but there is nothing out there that confirms that there is mutual interest. She is transferring high schools this year to a larger public school where she will likely face more competition (she was at a tiny private school who played in 1B which I believe is the lowest league) and maybe get more media exposure - unless she is against it. What I have seen is: - There was some interaction between she and Weisner on twitter at one point...I forget what it was, but both played for the NW Blazers. - She played in Italy with Taylor and Kennedy, so that can’t hurt. - A few staff members follow her on social media.

I can't seem to confirm it now, but I think von Oelhoffen was at Chiawana her Fr. year, a 4A school (highest classification in WA). 3 high schools in 3 years? Unless it was for academic reasons, I thought it was strange she was at such a tiny school last year. Couldn't have been any competition at all for her playing at that level, similar to Van Lith.

I don’t believe so. MaxPreps shows stats for her freshman year at Tri-Cities Prep and this article confirms -- as she was the NPOY for private schools as a freshman She will be at Chiawana next year.

Okay. I could've sworn at some previous point I saw a different school listed for her than Tri Cities Prep. Will be interesting to track her in the playoffs playing at the big school level. There are always some tough schools around Spokane, and the Puget Sound area too of course.

Stanford, Iowa, Indiana, and Michigan were all at an open gym for Greta Kampschroeder last night.
Expect the staff to be in Kansas tomorrow, Bishop Miege is hosting an open.
It appears that both schools publicize who attends, so we will know.

Does Stanford really have to be in on every girl OSU recruits? Yes, I hate that. I hate it because I can blame a girl for choosing many schools other than the Beavs, but it's hard to blame someone for wanting a degree from Stanford.

Kampschroeder, Verhulst, Daniels, Gardiner...and the list goes on. Stanford fans will tell you...Mik is one of very few recruits who was accepted to Stanford and chose elsewhere.

And there is also a very practical matter to consider when discussing OSU & Stanford recruiting the same players... Both are national level programs. If you want to sustain your national ranking you must recruit national level players.... The bottom line: there are only about 15, maybe 20, elite national level h.s. players in the U.S. each year...Among those 8 or 10 REALLY stand out.
So, you have 8 or 9 national Elite university programs chasing the same 10, or so, girls... When you land one of them you've done a pretty remarkable recruiting job. For example, Kennedy Brown says the Beavs had been in contact with her for 4 years before she signed.. Taylor Jones said it was more than 3 years.....
But I agree it is a bummer competing against Stanford. Everyone pretty much agrees that it is one of the world's great universities. In addition to a great education, one makes contacts that often carry thru one's entire professional career.... GO BEAVS!!
