If Marotte comes to OSU, she MIGHT qualify as a reasonable replacement for Samuel, but is no where even near a replacement for Goforth.
Here are Morotte's 2021 Rankings versus Goforth's and Samuel's 2020 rankings:
Marotte Goforth Samuel Bluestar.com 120 12 79 ProspectsNation.com 61 14 86 ESPNW 63 (4*, 91 rating) 21 (5*, 98 rating) N/A (3*, 90 rating) ASGR 92 26 (95 rating) 57 (95 rating)
So, Marotte is ranked below Samuel in 2 services and above Samuel in 2 services...making the players roughly equivalent by this type of metric.

If Kylie Feuerbach from Iowa State (now in the transfer portal) comes to OSU as being discussed in that thread, here are her 2020 rankings for comparison with Marotte, Goforth, and Samuel (see my previous post above)
Bluestar.com 117 ProspectsNation.com 53 (4*) ESPNW 71 (4*, 95 rating) ASGR 79 (93 rating)
Like Marotte, she is roughly equivalent to Samuel but no where near Goforth, using this metric.

What I like about Feuerbach is that she already has a year of college behind her with something around 22ish starts. Because of Covid, she has 4 years remaining just as Marotte would have. I think both Marotte and Feuerbach could help next season but I'm a bit doubtful either one would bring the production the Beavers need next year. I would expect both of them to be nice players by the time they are upperclasswomen.
If the Beavs bring one, or both of these in, I still think they need a transfer who can score....or hope Ellie, Kennedy, Taylor, or Taya, increase their offensive production.
As for the player rankings, they are always nice to follow, but I think we all know that the number 70 player may very well be better than the number 40 player, and one of the two are going to develop better than the other one once in college. Do you think Talia is the number 25 2021 player, as currently ranked, or do you think her former ranking around #10 is closer to correct? I'm glad the coaches go for the player they think fits (Blacklock, Hansford) because I would have a tough time not paying attention to rankings.

Although I wouldn’t expect anything spectacular, I think Marotte and Feuerbach would be solid additions. Do we know how likely it is that Marotte is considering other schools and not wanting to go to UW anymore? Besides their program coaching change, has she given any indication? The only thing I know is that Talia shared an Instagram story of AJ today, so they appear to be in touch. Unless we get another stud transfer like Slocum, I’m not expecting any HUGE contributors to come in at the last minute. We will need Talia, Greta, and Taylor to average over 10 PPG, and one of Kennedy, Taylor or Taya to step up and do the same. If we can get some good players like Feuerbach and Marotte to come to Corvallis, I’d be pleased with anywhere from 6-8 PPG. Bottom line is that it might take another year or two in order to be even near the top of the Pac-12 standings. I hope this group can prove me wrong!

Hearing good things about OSU and Marotte... I think she’ll be a nice late addition on the wing. Thanks for the info beaverwbb. I'm seeing a lot more social media activity between Marotte and the Beavs tonight, including her Dad and BH following each other on twitter.

Interesting following of each other by Katie F and Jordan Hobbs, who was a Rice signee last fall for 2021, but since Rice Head coach moved on, Jordan is open to sign elsewhere, much as A J Marotte did. I didn't really watch any film on Jordan other than the posted video. Some of you won't like this, but I always like the underdog, but she was rated #207 by ASGR. I'm not sure if she was rated anywhere else. I didn't look.
Other than her being from Ohio, and receiving current interest from Michigan, Colorado State and Tulsa, among other places, the only things I know about her is that she is a guard, a great free throw shooter, and can hit six 3's in a row in 24 seconds (the video),
Not a lot else to talk about tonight so....
