With Brown and Aquino likely out for next season and Corosdale, Mitrovic, and Simmons returning to action following surgery, I do think that the OSU coaching staff is hopeful for at least one more contributing player to augment the '20-'21 roster. Oregon just picked up a late addition. I think that OSU does not want to be caught short two seasons in a row. I missed that Simmons also had surgery?? When did that happen? Last week. Thumb. |

Simmons apparently played through the pain and taped her hand most of the season. That may explain why there were times when she didn't appear to be as aggressiveness as we may have expected. |

I'm hoping her ailment held her back, because I was expecting a better Soph. jump from Jasmine than the Beavs got...
Hopefully, if healing goes well, we will be in for some pleasant surprises from Jasmine's game....I like her athleticism, her open court speed, and even her open-3 shooting looks promising.....
Where she needs noticeable improvement is her interior passing, and her dribble penetration to the basket. If these were hindered by her injury it would help explain her lack of major improvement.
Right now the Beavs are in a situation where they MUST get genuine improvement from Jas if we are going to be a top 3 or 4 team in the Pac.....
Our returning players just don't bring enough on their own - they need major help from players who provided little help this past season....

Correct. The recent photo showed Simmons in a hospital bed with her right thumb/hand in a soft protective splint.

Agree on all points - but I was especially taken aback by Jazz's lack of interior passing/vision - and I saw "snappier" passing from her Team Australia film during the international competition (so I had high expectations) . The thumb injury might have been a contributing factor, though I am not sure it explained her tendency to try to pass through defenders this past season......but it would explain the somewhat wimpy/slo-mo passes that would end up with the defender heading the other direction with ball and a head of steam. We really do need Jazz to take the "Kolbie leap" since while our front court has some proven returners, the backcourt less so.....and Jazz might be able to create from the perimeter in better than most anyone else on next season's team. I want the best players in the pac-12. Gets the Beav's that much better playing against the best so they are ready for the tournament.

Not sure if OSU has any interest in the younger one (don’t see them taking the older one at this point), but the Huard sisters are transferring from WA to Valor Christian in CO. Should make Raegan Beers team very good.
