"Duck poster" kinda says it all on this board ... I venture to guess that qualifier keeps me just below WestlinnPatrick on the like-ability scale for most here.About Beaver football ... I think it will be very interesting to see how Coach Smith absorbs the mentoring of Mike Riley. Riley has a lot to share from x's and O's to administration of a program to getting the most from the kids on the team. The thread about the offense under Coach JS contained alot of info and insight from the posters here. No way! Thoughtful and well communicated discourse is ALWAYS welcome and appreciated! green85 >>>>>>> WestLinnPatrick Agreed. There are definitely some posters on the board that wear rival hate like a badge of courage for sure and that's fine (even amusing to me) but I'd say that the lion's share of folks around here don't mind rival posters who bring something to the discussion.

You and @autzennoise are my favorite Duck posters, without a doubt. "Duck poster" kinda says it all on this board ... If I had more time Green, and the inclination, I would set up a poll on here to gauge my fellow posters respect and likeability of both you and autzennoise. I agree with OA - both of you are quality posters. I may not always agree with your point of view, but I find it well thought out and entertaining.

It seems like green is a great fan of the ducks who also can respect and acknowledge that there are other teams worthy of credit. He also isn’t afraid to admit that his teams aren’t perfect. As a result, his posts are generally positive and we don’t see mud-slinging and pettiness in the back and forth between posters relating to his posts. I appreciate and respect that.

Since we are on the topic of being a "reasonable" fan, was in Utah a couple of weeks' ago, went out to dinner with a business associate who lives in Utah who tried his best to convince me that QA was really a great coach. I resisted the temptation to really dump on both my associate and QA - it was all I could do to not go off on him. I simply said we were glad to have him gone and back to Utah, and that I didn't think he would get a very warm reception in Reser when Utah comes to town - maybe he will quit and go somewhere else by then

We have had numerous football and basketball coaches who just didn’t get it done during my half century as a Beaver fan. Some have been just as horrible as a coach here in terms of the damage they did to our programs - Avezzano and Jay John to name a couple - but I don’t harbor nearly as much disdain for them as I have for this guy. Maybe it’s because it’s so fresh in my mind. Maybe it’s how he had a far more impressive persona/rep coming in. Perhaps it’s the fact that he quit on his kids halfway through the year and/or ran off some real talent (Avezzano was morally contemptible and John refused to listen to his kids and threw them under the bus constantly). All 3 were really awful coaches, but GA conned us and decimated our program, slunk (is that even a word?) away mysteriously then resurfaced not 6 months after bailing here to be welcomed back in his homeland almost like a hero, or at least a misunderstood genius victim. When I see his name or hear about his next thing, I can’t muster the inner War Daddy or find Big Boy Pants that are big enough to enable me to just not click on the article or thread, YET. My hope is that sometime soon I can just choose not to go there when the topic of GA is brought up. I really couldn’t care less about him or what he’s doing these days. I don’t “hate” the guy by any measure, but let’s just say that sunshine and unicorns don’t come to mind when I hear his name.

I think he was actually a tcu poster pretending to be a Penn State fan or maybe it was the other way around or none of the above lol. And what was the poster's name who was always claiming he played video games with all the players, one the players dated his sister and always had "inside" info to offer. And my apologies if this has already been covered but I'm not reading through a six page thread this time of year to see for myself.

And with the baseball teams hitting the field, a troll can't say much when your rival sits atop the polls and your team can't figure out who's playing first base and which pitcher is gonna be 3rd in the rotation. I suppose softball could be fun to talk about from my perspective, but even then the OSU softball team looks like a ranked team with talent that could beat anyone in the Pac12 at any time. I have no clue how the Bass Fishing rivalry is shaping up this year ... anybody here know?

I thought the big 10 took over for top bass fishing when the SEC dropped the sport and picked up noodlin' instead. I think I heard something about using an actual fishing pole to be "too refined"

Big 10 is too math challenged to compete in bass fishing. They think 14 pounders count as 10lbs. A big 10, but only 10 nonetheless.
Go Beavs!!
