as I am sure many of you were too!
I thought the portal would explode with Beavers once the guy at MSU left.
Sure, we lost a group of key guys..but not a 'clear the house' portal jump
But dang. TB and company sure have done well brining in good quality guys.
Happy to admit I was WRONG.

Bray and his staff may be better recruiters than Smith & Co. It's early, but there's definitely been a bump in quality kids committing to OSU. Just getting started.

Well, the Beavers still lost almost all of their starters. But if Joshua Gray comes back, that's huge. Obviously, Martinez staying in the fold is great as well. I've argued with some on this and I still maintain that losing nearly all your starters overall as well as some of the most key guys to MSU specifically was significant and is not something to crow about. Nobody is interested in most of the backups. However, what is something to crow about is the recruiting job by Bray and this staff. Personally, I was hoping for a decent group but this is far beyond my wildest expectations and frankly, I seriously doubt that anybody on this board "knew it all along." But it's been fantastic.

Some people just can't be positive without the backhanded negativity! Post after post after post...
"Crow about"? Lol
FFS... no one... EVER... crowed about losing players.
As far as "nearly all"... some seem to forget many were leaving due to draft, eligibility, or were never staying.

As far as "nearly all"... some seem to forget many were leaving due to draft, eligibility, or were never staying. You crowed about the supposed "victory" of only losing a certain amount of players in the portal while disregarding the fact that they were all key starters (and Chiles) and combined with those that OSU was already going to lose through eligibilty or declaring for the NFL draft. Almost every starter is gone. You can pretend all you want (and you will) that because the Beavers didn't have a ton of backups leave that it was some sort of win.

Bray is more personable, and more genuine than He who shall not be named. He's proven to be good coach, and he's a football junkie. Seems like a really easy to like dude.
I think he understands the game we are in. Sell your program to talented kids who are looking for immediate playing time. If/when they bail for NIL deals, wash, rinse, repeat.

Graymans post was about being impressed with the talent replacing what we lost, which was significant.
