You have to have really deep pitching to win the CWS coming out of the losers bracket! So do the Beavers have that in this team?

Now we have to have great outings from Fehmel and Abel. Luke didn't throw much, so provided he gets his stuff back, he could pitch again on short rest. Personally, the way NC threw just about every pitcher at us was an interesting approach. I wonder if it would be possible to win it all with a committee approach to each game.

Our offense means we can win games even giving up runs - a clutch hit by Kwan in the 7th would've had us at 8 runs despite everything else that went wrong. It's certainly possible, but going to need to figure it out by Monday morning.

You have to have really deep pitching to win the CWS coming out of the losers bracket! So do the Beavers have that in this team? The good news is, there shouldn't be the need of using a mid-week starter, like in 2006, based on how the scheduling is done. Going through the losers bracket in the CWS isn't as demanding on a pitching staff depth as going through it in regionals.

You have to have really deep pitching to win the CWS coming out of the losers bracket! So do the Beavers have that in this team? Yes, they have it in themselves to come back. If there was any quit in them, today's game would not have been that close. Bryce/Monday, Abel/Wednesday, Luke/Friday, Chamberlain/Saturday, Bryce/Monday, Abel/Tuesday, Luke/Wednesday. Today's game was played on an unfamiliar surface in conditions that impacted the outcome. The reason it's double elimination is that it takes two losses to be out. Otherwise they'd just send us home tonight.

OSU has played on "real grass" all season. The conditions were the same for both teams. Meggs, umpires, field, conditions... effing crazy talk. OSU stunk it up today on the biggest stage. Better to be on that stage than not. OSU will continue based on their play... not effing excuses or luck.

I looked at the beavers losses and they seem to come on the third day which I take to mean that pitching will be weakest on the third and fourth string pitchers and that means the beavers better have a strong bullpen or it may be 1 2 barbecue.

The mental errors were just plain mental errors, and Luke's command problems were just plain command problems. Still, the road back is easier than it was in the old CWS format.

Were you at the game today? Yep... That's strange, I didn't see the back end of a horse anywhere in the stadium.

By losing today, it can be 2 & Q for sure. The Beavs better play better D. One game at a time. Fehmel is a gamer. He'll need help but will throw a quality start or close to it. The miscues on D surprised me, today.

much MUCH harder if you are the fuskies cougars.
I feel better already. I know the beavs will beat the fuskies and i KNOW they can beat missipissi st or Carolina (twice if neccesary). Suddenly the road seems clear.
