Baseball is exactly that! The other 8 had ample ops to pick Luke up. They did not. If pitching falters, the other two must step forward. If pitching and D falter the bats need to score "touchdowns". OSU failed because they weren't the TEAM they have been. Happens over 60+ games. And, for BEAVER fans... not very effing often. This was the second game in the playoffs that LH did not bring his best stuff. Against the kitty cats at Goss, he had a relatively bad game, but the defense was nails. Still won 14-1. I agree we lost as a "team". Way too many uncharacteristic errors in that game. Not to make excuses, but would you want to play in 90+ degree heat in black unis? Agree... but, PC could have overruled the black... tradition or not. When you find out you're the home team in the sun dugout you give choices, but not black. No excuse, as the happens on the field, but stadium worker commented last night there was a 15-20 degree difference in the 3B and 1B dugouts. Beaver dugout hovered about 105-110... NC about 90. He delivers water, ice, etc to the dugouts.

I would agree, although it's concerning to me how shaky Luke has looked in his last two starts. He just wasn't even close to finding his command on Saturday. And with one loss already, there's no margin for error. If we make it to another Luke start, whether on Wednesday or Friday, he needs to be on an extremely short leash. I have to wonder if all the increased scrutiny and pressure and the larger stage of Omaha is getting inside his head. You know he is hearing it from opposing players and fans. He just hasn't looked like the same pitcher to me ever since the news about his past came out. What? The news came out last year and he is 16-2 this year.
The last two games have definitely been shaky, but I think that he has done pretty well since the news came out.
He hasn't sucked outside of the last two games, but he was so dominant last year. I mean, he was just mowing people down. Maybe that's a testament to how high his level of play was last year, but even though his stats have been great this year it does feel like a little bit of a regression compared to last year. Guess we'll never know how he would've done this year without the news coming out - if it'd stayed buried, he would've been a high draft pick last year and already on his way to the Show.

Baseball is funny. Both bracket favorites lost, neither played well. I would rather be in our situation than theirs. I would agree, although it's concerning to me how shaky Luke has looked in his last two starts. He just wasn't even close to finding his command on Saturday. He just hasn't looked like the same pitcher to me ever since the news about his past came out. Or Maybe the competition is just better than he's used too?

If LH has looked "shaky" in his last two starts, I'd like another round of the so-called "shakiness" he had against Minnesota in his next-to-last start, please.

Now you see what I was trying to express about how pitching is very important once you lose the first game the winners bracket has their number 1 pitcher against your #3 or 4 and it makes it really difficult to win it all but it can be done.

We've done it once, and had it done twice to us, let's even the score there

Bump.
Very difficult. It takes a very good team to do it.
