Reports are that Jones is going to announce on the 28th, even though she actually has to sign the letter of intent by today. Apparently, programs have 14 days to get those letters turned in, so she will sign, and have it officially sent in after her announcement. Whatever the case, I'll be surprised if she picks oregon, but who knows. I think UConn and Stanford still have an edge.
As for the ducks recruiting, I am hearing pretty good things about their freshman guard out of Arizona, Taylor Chavez. In the long run, I expect the Beavers will prevail to be the better program of the two, but I think the ducks will continue to be a strong program over the next several years. Of course, it looks like most of the Pac12 teams are getting stronger. 2020 is going to be hugely important recruiting year for the Beavs, as they will need to reload with wings/guards. As I said in an earlier post, I'd love to seen them get an early commit or two.

With Haley Jones choosing Stanford, their 2019 class is awfully strong - Hoopgurlz # 1, 16, 23, and 50.
The PAC 12 schools that didn't land a single top 100 recruit are Washington (3rd year in a row), Washington State, Cal, Arizona, Colorado, and OREGON.
Since their big recruiting class in 2016, the Ducks have pretty much fallen off the domestic radar, signing only #61 Taylor Chavez in 2018. I realize that they've done well internationally and had Boley transfer in, so they're certainly going to be OK for the next year or two. But failure to recruit within the US doesn't bode well for the long term health of their program.
Damn shame, isn't it?

Jones to Stanford !! YIIIIKES..... That's going to make life difficult for the Beavs the next few years... Lexi Hull & Haley Jones are an absolutely awesome combination. Facing up 3 times a year against Slocum, Pivec and our impressive roster will make for some fantastic basketball. I am expecting brilliant slugfests between these two teams.... Great coaches, great players...It's gonna be awesome....
Although, to tell the truth, I wish to hell Jones would have gone somewhere East... GO BEAVS

Stanford is going to be TOUGH for years to come. Not to mention they already have Brink and Van Grytenbeek committed in 2020, plus in the hunt for Dalayah Daniels. We need a good 2020 class to continue to compete with them for sure!

They are not only not getting top recruits but they lost some decent players to transfers. I don't necessarily think it is the fault of i but of the way graves coaches and his general lack of control of his team.

When her coaches tell Ion to grab all of the rebounds, what is that telling her teammates? Let Ion have the rebounds so she can get her triple double. If that happened once in her career it'd be OK. But it seems like it must happen a lot. Why would you want to stay in or join a program that sacrificed you for someone else's personal glory like that?

Two players are already not members of that 2018 5-player Arizona class...WA native Shalyse Smith announced she will be transferring.

Arizona State already has three 2020 verbals, including OR Sydney Erikstrup. BH followed her on twitter, but that was all I saw between she and OSU.

Not sure if this was reported but 6ā5 Aussie Lucy Cochrane signed her NLI to tsdtr at the end of November. She was their third 2019 (technically fourth since Nyara Sabally will be a RSF).

ASU picks up an international 2019 Finnish PG in Sara Bejedi. She also had Baylor in her top-3, so a nice pickup for the Sun Devils. CTT always does a nice job internationally recruiting. I believe we are recruiting the Finnish Dunking Phenom who is a 2020, coaches and the program follow her on social media.

Kianna Smith is leaving Cal. Talk about what a rebuilding year it will be for them. They lose a lot. Will drift to the Pac basement.

Marquette now out of the running due to the coach bolting for Penn State.
