tsdtr adds another international player... this time it is 5’11 wing Holly Winterburn from England. Her other finalists were USF and UCD. 3 of their last 4 commits have been international players. They have also been recruiting in small class sizes. I’d also look for them to have a big 2020 class the same way they had their big 2016 class. Not having the most success domestically recruiting which is a great sign!

I think that might be a tad bit harsh. You can't deny she's Sabrina's an amazing player and seems to get along with her coaches and teammates - to all outward appearances. This is Shelley's quote: “The opportunity to play, train with, and be mentored by the best guard in the country was a key factor for me, which I think will help take my game to the next level” I don't see much to criticize there. Although it does seem a little less than a team-centered attitude. Now if she says she admires Mark Campbell...then she's got some real problems.

Watched a little FIBA U18 Asian and amazing was not the word to describe her play. Couldn’t hit the side of a barn actually. Shot 28% 3PFG, 32% 2PFG, 50%FT. Did other stuff well but looked nothing more than an above average role player.
Her teammate, Miela Goodchild, on the other hand... watch out for her when we play Duke this year. She is a player!

Sorry for the vagueness of my post. Was commenting on her admiration for Sabrina and the "amazing" description was intended for her, not Shelley.

Not all outward appearances, I have several family members that have season tickets to the schmucks, they have repeatedly commented on how i will get into graves face if he doesn't do what she wants. Which is usually taking her out of the game or when he emphasizes that Cazorla is the point guard and floor leader. She has also been known to be disrespectful to her teammates. Could very well be part of the reason for the mass exodus from the schmucks. There is a reason why Westbrook's parents eliminated o from their colleges of interest after i announced her intent. Rumor is others from her club team did the same. So while she is really good she also brings some serious baggage with her.

I would not be surprised if she was a big part of driving out McGwire, Maley, Campisano, and Ayuso. Also is worth noting that she is the most recent Cal Star they have signed, despite Kelly Sopak (Cal Stars founder and ion’s HS Coach) seeming to love Ion and her ducks. Westbrook was a perfect example and I’m sure there are many more, but there are also those like Shelley - for whom Ion was a prime reason for her commitment. I am interested to see the *ucks after Ionescu. They will still have Boley and the Sabally’s, but no top recruits like Brown, Jones, or Aquino

I'd like to see Jones go to Notre Dame, but Cochrane is welcome to try out Eugene.

wbbblog.com/2018/07/12/2020-commitments/Arizona State just landed their 2nd 2020 recruit. I expect the Beavs to have a very good class next year signing at least 3, and it wouldn't surprise me if they signed 4. It would be nice to get an early commit to get the ball rolling.

An early 2020 commit would be very nice, especially given that this will be a crucial recruiting class because we will be replacing Kat and Mik as well as Maddie and Janessa, but 2019 took care of the latter two.

For example: May be enjoys the team concept the Beavers employ, and the fact the players he has sent our direction have improved as players and grown as people...... Go Beavers!

Or it could be that guys like Sopak build their businesses by getting girls college scholarships. They want every coach to be looking at their girls. Publicly, you'll never hear any of these guys say anything less than effusive about a college program.
And who knows what they say privately.
