We are just simply a middle of Pac12 team right now. Hoping Madrigal back changes it, but not sure. Chances of national seed pretty much gone. Not good. I missed the game. What did Abel do? Geez, what the hell happened? The wheels have come off the orange steam roller.

Geez, what the hell happened? The wheels have come off the orange steam roller. After Abel had a 1-2-3 7th inning that finished with a strikeout, he stared down at the Arizona dugout. Next inning, walk, walk, two wild pitches and a HBP. Couldn't record and out, and the game was tied after three runs (all his) scored in the 8th. Really made himself look like a fool when it was all said and done. Karma got the Beavers.

When you give up no hits and get tagged for three runs that isn't a good thing. On the other hand, Muholland gave up three hits. Beavers are playing bad baseball of late. Pitching is letting the team down at this point. Pitching this weekend was average at best. If you want to get to the top, you have to have the pitching. It covers a lot when the bats aren't working.

I know it seems crazy: but do any of u think Casey/Nate left Abel in, in order to teach him a lesson ?

The loss today and the Weekend Series Loss is all on the Coaches. Abel's emotions were too high at the end of the 7th. He should have never been allowed to start the 8th when Eisert and Mulholland were both warmed up. It is not like we have a Tuesday game to worry about this week. Poor coaching costs the game today. Abel could have left Arizona with a positive experience, instead he leaves with a huge disappointment. Coaches have made horrible mistakes in the last 9 days in my opinion. Too many runners thrown out at home, pitchers left in when they shouldn't have been left in and pitchers coming into games when they shouldn't (in a NON-League game!). Just my 2 cents...

Adley gave him a instant lesson but the anger on his face told the story. I am guessing the AZ Dugout was giving crap and he let it get to him. Why I scratch my head is why he was seen out to start the 8th. His "head" was out of control and the pitches followed. I have said it before the real story of this team is the Pitching. Something has really changed Luke and he is performing about half the level as last year. 5 Straight Shots last night off Luke! The rest of the Staff because of their youth seems to be 50/50 guess what we are going to get. Nobody has really stepped up. Very strange seeing this kind of Staff at OSU.

It is a TOTAL head scratcher. Not only that he would start the 8th after an emotional $%&@!! (whatever).....but for Abel to be left in until AFTER 5 (FIVE!) negative results had occurred. Walk - HBP - Wild Pitch - Wild Pitch - Walk. That is nothing short of insanity *, especially when: a.) the sequence BEGAN with a 3-run lead, b.) the Bullpen was warm (multiple bodies) c.) only 6 outs to go for a victory d.) it's' 5 Days before the next game. and e.) Abel is a true Freshman. * unless they (Casey/Yeskie) did it to 'teach Abel a lesson' (which in itself is f*ckin' crazy) to be 'cashed in' sometime over the next 3 seasons. Nick! "...a nation turns its lonely eyes to you..."

Mulholland gave up three hits so he wasn't stellar at all. Abel should have been calmed down before going out the next inning. I am sure Yeskie and Casey spoke with him about the incident. Whether Abel's mind was completely clear before going out isn't known. The problem is when you walk the first person the heat is a lot bigger. Arizona players were jacked up to start with and were probably giving him the business when things went south. Although, like I said, Mulholland didn't exactly mow them down when he came in the game. Basically, who can you trust on the mound? Everyone has had issues the last three weeks. There isn't a lot of options at this point unless you give someone a chance who hasn't been out there this year. You could open up another can of worms if you do that? Whether Yeskie and Casey get it fixed will determine how far the Beavers go this year.

Eisert was up all weekend, including earlier this game, but it was Pearce ready to go... from walk number one in the 8th, to hit/error number one in the 9th.

To heck with this. Why did Gambrell come out of the game in the sixth? He had only thrown 90 pitches. He looked locked in. If he can get 2-3 more outs, Oregon State wins the game going away. Abel was able to keep it going for a couple of batters. But it was obvious his head was not right for the eighth. Abel staying out there was so inexplicable.
