We are just simply a middle of Pac12 team right now. Hoping Madrigal back changes it, but not sure. Chances of national seed pretty much gone. Not good.

I put this loss on Abel, not on the coaches. Players to do that bush league s%#t deserve to cost their team the game. You're wrong... he's a kid... made a mistake. The coaches are processionals, put him and the team in a position to fail. Period.

Coach gives an honest assessment of players, and Casey is a great coach. However, I would like to hear his comments on what happened in the 8th.

Casey doesn't take that kind of crap, but I guess Abel didn't pay attention.

Very odd. Maddening. Two weeks ago, we were damn near a consensus #1. Anyone think THAT played into it?

What Abel did was a bad move, but this loss is all on the coaches. Just when I want to start feeling sick to my stomach I have to remind myself it’s just kids playing baseball.

Pearce and Mulholland weren't necessarily dominating this weekend. They've shown some vulnerabilities, and coaches wanted to limit their innings and exposure. Abel was doing great, until karma got to him, then it was hurry up the bullpen because people were complaining how the pen wasn't ready for Nevada.

So you put an emotional guy back on the mound after an emotional outburst, I guarantee that he is going to really overthrow.

fark. I leave in the 7th and we are cruising. A few more match ups and we are out of town with a series win. I followed on gametracker and "all of a sudden" we are tied. I guessed HR. No! 3 runs on 1 hit.
Dag nab it

It was a long half inning, so things were getting cooled down. Things started getting out of control after the lead off walk on the full count.

I know they are just kids. Abel was not the same after his fit. I would not have sent him back out. You could see it in is face. Now he will live with Rabbit Label until he learns different. Fact is Az was a better hitting Team and when you don't get Top Shelf Pitching you likely are just screwed. I know they are just kids.....

You give Abel the first gimme then he's done. You win games, you don't limit exposure or innings. If that's the MO why is Luke pitching relief in a NC, meaningless game? Again... We disagree.

I think we all knew we were overated at #1. We just don't have the dominant arms so far this season. Not getting timely hits, not sound fundamentals, too many DP's with runners on. We'll make the post season, but it's not as a national seed for sure. Have to win a region on the road.

Cardinal Sin- You are up more than 2 runs late in game and you walk the lead off man. If you check the last half dozen games or so you will that our pitching staff has walked or hit a batter per inning. A good example was today. You don't win games by giving out free passes at that rate. Out of the 6 runs that AZ scored today 4 were from poor pitching or errors. Also when there is a obvious bunt the outfielders need to hustle in and cover any vacant bases and act as overthrow backups especially when the batter goes into a bunting stance early. Kwan was late in covering 2nd or we would have escaped that inning.
