Just a question as I see no growth.

Should be. No progress. If you’re not getting better, you’re getting worse.

I have to think that it’s starting to get warm. I’d guess he gets next year for sure, but if they have another season like this next year it should be pretty hot.

I have thought that WT would have next year to win and go to the dance regardless, but I am now starting to wonder....This is a team that has talent and by modern college basketball standards is a veteran group - 3 starters in their 3rd year in the program. If they can't win this year, is there really any reason to believe that they will be that much better next year with another year of experience? Once the coaches kids are gone the roster will be filled with players who for the most part are not conference quality starters. So far this staff has shown they can not recruit (not counting their kids) at a high enough level to win in conference. It is more and more looking like it is not a matter of if WT is fired but when. If he was let go this year the incoming coach would have some talent to work with, That is assuming the coaches kids don't transfer out...if we wait a year or two more the roster will be in terrible shape for the incoming coach.

That’s a bad loss to a bad team. If we can’t get elite players to come to Corvallis in this day and age of bling, we need to hire a good basketball coach. Wayne isn’t a good basketball coach. He simply isn’t. Either hire a really good basketball mind or let’s just bling the s%#t outta Gill! Dancing bears, neon lights, and showgirls!! I won’t be there, but ......no biggie. [. I won’t be missed

So if the bench is as bad as Wayne seems to think it is he should go at the end of this year. If you don't feel you can spare the coaches boys a few more minutes because their stats may suffer you are in no position to be coaching at this level. No one is going to want to play at Oregon state until they feel they will get a fair shot, our 4 start recruit that left can speak better to that point than I. They will give him one more year to keep tres around which is a stupid move, but you can count on it.

Secondly, You do get that JM left due to personal reasons and/or grades also..JM himself said he couldn't deal with everything that came with being a student-athlete.. but whatever drives your naritive to blame WT for running him off

Question: Who was the last coach to successfully recruit and land truly elite players to Corvallis?

Last coach able to recruit and land truly elite players was Ralph Miller with Assistant coach Anderson who did most of recruit job for Miller. Charles Sitton was the 2nd most sought after in the county and named MVP at HS All Americans game. Also brought in AC Green Gray Payton and Lester Conner that played long NBA career.

UW 17-6/7-3... stuns Zona... beats two ranked teams in a row... two top ten teams this year...
And... really really well coached.
Guess 9-22/2-16 isn't an excuse up there...
Lol... I still remember some on this "board" around Thanksgiving time stating playing St John's tough was huge... 11-13/0-11 St John's... albeit they did beat Duke tonight.

If he wins 3 more games he stays. 14-16 and 6 wins in conference. Less than that he is gone.

Wishin’ and prayin’ and hopin’ and longin’, and reminiscin’, and rememberin’........ Long friggin’ time, no?

Isn't UW's coach the former Syracuse assistant that we almost hired instead of WT? Yes... Mike Hopkins. Not sure how serious he was about leaving then. He was rumored to be the dreaded "coach in waiting". Was with Boehiem 22 years when hired. Hopefully only learned of the coaching aspect from Jim... Cuse seems to always be involved in shady side!
