If Scott Frost was announced the next Beavers head coach, I'm afraid there wouldn't be enough bridges in the state of Nebraska to handle the number of people looking to jump off one. nforkbeav wins the internet today!!
Thank you for that!! Go Beavs!!

If I was donor giving the amount of money required to go on this donor trip, I’d be pretty annoyed if the athletic director was not on the trip for any reason OTHER than kicking the tires on a new head coach. I mean, I guess it’s possible that he is at some sort of AD conference or something that couldn’t be rescheduled, but still seems weird that if you have all your top donors in one place for an extended weekend that the athletic director wouldn’t be there with them.

So, you know for sure SB was even in Florida,or that he won't be in Arizona today, and for the rest of the weekend?

The application site says the closing date is subject to change without notice to applicants. If true, the closing date may have already expired.

I guess if I were a major donor, I'd want my AD doing everything he can to find the right FB coach. If that means he's doing that, instead of kissing my ass in Arizona, so be it. Heck, I'm not a major donor, and that's what I want him doing.

It was said in an earlier post - possibly the AD is interviewing for a position at another University. I'm sure an AD would be looking for ways to climb the corporate ladder too. To some skillful individuals OSU AD might not be a "Target" position.

If I was Scott Frost I'd truly think hard about the Nebraska job if it opens. You can't go home again. Maybe MR will give Scott the real down low on the two jobs! Plus Scott having been in Oregon... well maybe he's a low key, egoless, "builder" who wants his family to grow in small town USA? That guy exists... right? We would be the envy of Nebraska AND Florida. He is at the top of their list for both schools. It’d be nice it it happened. I know personally, I think Oregon has a lot of appeal over Gainesville and anywhere in Nebraska. Mullen’s wife recently stated she didn’t think she could handle grocery shopping in Gainesville if the team didn’t score enough points the week before, citing the number of angry fans who would approach her. Yikes. Coaches are just like most of us, our wives have a hell of a lot of say in relocation matters...maybe that gives us a chance as well? haven’t placed him on my top 5 thinking we didn’t have a chance... Spot on...I believe that when DE was approached by USC in the middle of his run in Corvallis, his wife said, “go ahead, take that job... and I’ll visit you on weekends”. DE told USC no.

I hadn't thought Barnes moving along this soon being anything more than the remotest of possibilities... but then again, he may have made a huge name for himself as the AD who successfully got a coach to walk away from a multi-year multi-million dollar contract. I'm sure it raised his profile, even if the whole walking away from the contract was Gary's idea.

She said the same thing when asked about leaving OSU for the NFL again. Still married... and followed him back to Oregon when his son was at SA, then to Utah. But, I'm sure they have long term home she gravitates to.
