If Barnes is talking to anyone directly about the job before 11/20 he is violating Oregon law. So...?

I'd take Kiffin in a heartbeat but don't buy any of this. If Barnes is talking to anyone directly about the job before 11/20 he is violating Oregon law. The search firm is doing all the talking right now. So...? Not sure what your point here is. I clearly say I don't buy that Barnes is talking to anyone directly right now. And I clearly say the search firm is doing the talking right now. Who am I accusing of breaking a law when I clearly say "I don't buy any of this"?

Lol It's alright youngster Disagree, you accuse me of saying something I never said and claim I am talking about something I've been told by "one person" when it was by the 5th largest school district in the state. That is NOT okay in my eyes.

Edited and out of context. You can't ignore the "I am not buying any of this" and the "if" part of the post. Context matters.

As you wish, though I didn't edit your sentence at all. But I'd still be careful making big statements even in context when you don't really know it for a fact

Competitive / External - open to ALL qualified applicants Special Instructions to Applicants To ensure full consideration, applications must be received by November 20, 2017. Applications will continue to be accepted after the full consideration date, until a sufficient applicant pool has been achieved or the position is filled. The closing date is subject to change without notice to applicants.
HOW TO APPLY
Inquiries, nominations, and applications are confidential and should be directed to:
Tom Snyder, Associate DHR International tsnyder@dhrinternational.com
OR
John Buechli, Associate DHR International jbuechli@dhrinternational.com
I'd certainly argue that if Barnes is already talking to people and someone else applies on November 20th that person would have a pretty legitimate complaint that they were not given full consideration if they hire a person Barnes flew to Florida to talk to more than a week prior to the job closing. My guess is that "officially" Barnes won't even see who has applied until that deadline.
I freely admit I can't find the law on this but I am pretty certain that in order to fully comply with equal opportunity government agencies don't 'officially' talk to candidates till the job closes.

Jesus, I've been looking. Its not like 'hiring laws for public agencies in Oregon' is a user friendly thing to find. Look you win. I am liable and Barnes can sue me for accusing him of committing a crime. (Although I did no such thing) You happy now?

Let's assume this is true. It's not that hard, even in this day and age, for Barnes to arrange a private meeting with a prospective coach at their home or other private location such as a borrowed office space arranged by the search firm.
It's a public job, but not too many of them pay millions a year.
If it is true, I hope it's Kiffin out of all the prospects I can think of down in Florida...He'd bring some swag to Corvallis for sure. I know he wants the UF job (made some sort of tweet about it), but I think UF is going all-in on Frost.
