Also on the wil2win site: "Both Patricia and Andrea have since signed letters of intent to attend Oregon State University." Of course, they haven't. I'm looking forward to congratulating them on their ability to see ~1 week into the future. Hopefully that statement is more reflective of a sense of "from the point of view of all parties involved, this is a done deal (and we talk to the two players all the time)" and less reflective of the possibility that the person who reported that doesn't understand the college recruiting process very well, and doesn't realize "things can change, especially when 18 year-old players, charismatic coaches, big money and big schools are involved". This is what makes this time of year interesting. I hope we also see Rae Burrell signing a Beaver NLI......that could be big for us. Go Beavers!

Rae Burrell lists California Golden Bears, Oklahoma Sooners, Oregon State Beavers, Marquette Golden Eagles, Tennessee Lady Vols as her schools of choice at HoopGurlz. We know she took an official visit to OSU (and her twitter feed lets us conclude she also visited Marquette twice). I'm hoping it comes down to us two and OSU wins out, but these are ~18 year olds we are talking about.... As far as "pulling a Westbrook", I think we have to hope these young ladies make good choices, and they find a fit for their talents where they are happy......sometimes that means OSU is in their future plans, and sometimes, sadly (for us), it may mean they go elsewhere. That said, I think this recruiting class could be one of the most crucial for us becoming a Final 4 fixture - a team with Burrell and Corosdale/Maddie/Janessa at the wings, twin towers AA and PM (+ MoJo) inside (supplemented in coming years with Kennedy Brown and Cameron Brink), and Slocum/Pivec/Goodman/Simmons at point would be quite formidable for the next few years.......especially with SR at the helm. Go Beavers! 2ndGenBeaver In your post you mention a Kennedy Brown. we're you just wishful thinking or is she actually interested in Oregon State? I have looked her up on the recruiting sites and see no mention of osu as a choice. Thanks

I have looked her up on the recruiting sites and see no mention of osu as a choice. Thanks No insight, no inside information, or reputable link to a recruiting site where she mentions us as being in the running (note, I don't know if she has a list of schools yet). Just wishful thinking, but she has set foot on campus: Note that she was making a "west coast swing" of some sort and also tweeted about visits to USC, UCLA and tsdtr. About the same time another highly ranked big was spotted on campus (Taylor Jones, Dallas Christian, ~6'3" with a 7'2" wingspan). I don't believe these were official visits, great sign that we are at least getting visits from very highly ranked post players, even if they are just out here for other purposes. Another reason I am hoping fervently that MoJo has a great season, and Gulich stays on the trajectory she is on (which by my reckoning would land her (again) in the All-Pac 12 team and some WNBA draft buzz). I am sure if some of that happens we will be doing well on the national stage, add to that the arrival of AA and PM, and these folks will be paying attention to us as a destination for promising posts. Go Beavers!

The Vols sure get a lot of visitors (and recruits) - in this case, Burrell visiting..... "Athletic and skilled 2018 wing @raehoops from Henderson, Nevada, set to visit @ladyvol_Hoops this weekend." Hopefully she enjoyed her OSU visit more (What is the Vol recruiting strategy? Try to get in on any SR recruits?) Go Beavers!

I have no idea what the vol draw is, but they like to recruit Oregon girls. And apparently one's with an interest in Oregon schools.

Based on the high level of recruits Tennessee WBB has brought in lately, they appear to be one of more underachieving teams in the Nation for the last 2 seasons.....arguably the school's men's football team takes the cake for underachieving as of late.

FYI - Sports Illustrated projects Tennessee Frosh Eva Westbrook as the National POY for 2017 - 2018. It will be interesting to see how things pan out for her with the Lady Vols.....

Given the number or Oregon players that have landed in Tennessee over the years, OSU needs to avoid scheduling them at home so that Tenn can't use "you will get a chance to play in front of family" as part of recruiting pitch.

CORRECTION: - Sports Illustrated projects Tennessee Frosh Eva Westbrook as the National FROSH POY for 2017 - 2018....... Just think, our freshman guard held Westbrook to 11 points, just 2 in the second half. These are Gabby vs Plum numbers. La Salle won 67-34, 5a taking out second (at the time) ranked 6a team. They ended up beating #1 ranked 6a team, Southridge, as well. This was not a one off situation, apparently AG had decided that she was going to become a shut down defender. She was already a very successful point guard and scorer. Knowing the style of ball that OSU plays, it would make sense for her to up her defensive game. As for her point guard ability, CR has likened her to Sage Indendi. Very high praise, Sage was instrumental in George Fox winning the national championship. She then quit playing ball and transferred to OSU for educational reasons. When CR took over, she contacted him and decided to play. It was a big deal to have a point guard that was already familiar with Rueck's system. Her importance is shown in the records the first two years, the third year she was injured and could not play. There was a definite drop in the record.

Lefty with hops. I liked her the 1st time I saw this and I like her now!! The recruiting storyline will get a bit topsy turvy now that Rae Burrell (should have double checked spelling) is in the recruiting picture. I think Mayhew has been on the hook for a while - whether she still is I do not know.... If Burrell comes into play Mayhew might be looking at a preferred walk-on offer..... I'm a bit surprised that we don't have more first hand info about Mayhew's game - - she lives in the Corvallis time zone...Everyone in Albany has seen her play. It's NOT hard to spot Pac-12 talent when you see it in an Oregon high school gym..... Totally guessing here, but she may be on hold as more high profile kids decide whether they are going to sign with the Beavs.... Why doesn't someone local give her a call? Can't be that hard........Just sayin' Well, if you make donations to the OSU athletic program, you might think twice about calling her. ANYONE have better knowledge of what constitutes a recruiting violation regarding boosters?

Yeh -obviously boosters and adults with a vested interest in the program can't be ringing up a prospect for a chat....to learn about their plans or their game...where they're going to school or what they think about the President...On the other hand, a beat writer for the Gazette or Democrat Herald could do it at will......

Question that has been bugging me: Who is MoJo? Mikayla Pivec?
I guess I missed the memo.
