Just a simple query... could you explain, if you can, how you read the 3M posts and come up with your stated assertions/conclusions? I just can't fathom anyone reading these threads doesn't get... 3M got into Fall camp very late... that he got in, let alone tossed TD passes in a new scheme/terminology should impress and shows 3M is indeed not buried... that Tedford DOES have a long history of handling great QBs and had publicly stated how impressed he is with 3M and his arm... and lastly the point by most on here on 3M is the way he was treated. That he should still at LEAST be the backup. So fire away. Can't wait for the next interpretation. If there ever was a depth chart that showed him 3rd string I never saw it. If so, please post it or actual quotes from CGA saying he was 3rd string. Like I said, I never saw anything official, only speculation here. It was reported several times 3M stopped getting 1st team reps at all... then slowly no 2nd team reps over Blount... it's old news... very old considering the same exact scenario as 2016. That then was topped off with the HC, who had nothing to do with QB development, playing Blount ahead of 3M vs Utah. Publicly stated he made said call. 3M and his family are GREAT people. 3M is a very good QB and athletic. 3M is even a better student and would never shy from competition. If he was getting a remotely fair shake he'd be here helping this team. As I was chastised a long time ago when I first brought up the mistreatment in 2016 and then again very early on in 2017 when I said if he is mistreated again don't be surprised if he was gone. I wasn't blowing smoke. There are more kids very disgruntled. Winning salves some wounds... not others. This team best win... and win more than I see possible at this point.

There was no official depth chart, but DG was getting the reps in practice. Just like there was no surprise Luton would be named starter there's no reason to believe 3M was the backup.

If 3M's two late touchdowns are impressive, then just how good are the TWO quarterbacks that Tedford played ahead of him? Or, how stupid is Tedford to have buried 3M on the depth chart - doesn't he realize he once had the greatest single game QB rating of all time?! What an idiot that guy is - he should be replaced with 4 posters on this board. Give it a couple weeks. Tedford is smart enough to not just hand the team over to a new guy until the new guy is fully ready. He started the kid who had been there before, led the team the previous year, and had a full spring practice with the team under his guidance rather than jump in with the new guy. 3m has a shot at being named starter sometime soon. For or those who were paying attention, only two QBs threw passes for Fresno State this last weekend. So maybe sort of like it could have been handled here? 😊

For or those who were paying attention, only two QBs threw passes for Fresno State this last weekend. False. The 2nd guy threw for one TD and ran for two TDs. In fact, he ended up with a completion percentage of 100%.

I haven't seen anyone call Nall a QB for OSU.

Become a Fresno State fan then!! Seems to me you can't get over 3M not starting, he's gone so get over it. I'm tired of all these fake fans who can't support their players and team. Go Beavs!!! I can't get over our coaches being stupid. SaveSavesays every message board genius ever. You can't get over it because you are typing words on a computer or phone about a topic that real live people are actually engaged in every day. You can't get over it because your massive football acumen is being utterly ignored by those fools over at the Valley Center. I'm with you Kersting. They don't listen to me either and i am VERY aggravated.

Speculated by people who were allowed to watch the last 15-20 minutes of practice each day.

Tres was best player on the team not named Gary Payton. Langston Morris-Walker was a two-year starter and a senior. Coach Tinkle waited a long time before starting Tres because 1) son and 2)he wanted to be sure the team was on board and believing beyond a shadow of a doubt that there was no favoritism in play.

Speculated by people who were allowed to watch the last 15-20 minutes of practice each day. The meda only got 15-20 minutes a practice to watch, but they spent enough time talking to the staff the last several months to get a general feel for what the coaching staff thinks. There's been no surprises.

Pretty fair comparison and a HC who dealt with it well... including having his top asst's son to integrate(now two). Hoops kids fully embrace WT and staff and as lot had to do with his transition techniques.

Bottom line for me is coaches gotta make decisions. GA doesn't seem to have a decision process I'm always comfortable with, but he's the coach and in the end not only are they his decisions to make, they're his decisions to live with.
I'm thinking he chose to rip off the bandage and start from scratch with the idea that 3-5 years down the line the team would be better off for it. It's a different approach than I would've personally taken, but then I'm no coach. I expected some collateral damage as soon as it became obvious he wasn't necessarily going to try to integrate the philosophies of the past with that of the new. It is what it is. Some of our players, 3M a prime example, have become collateral damage in the coaching change. It doesn't mean they were performing poorly, uncoachable, or outperformed, it's just that they were not part of this staff's plan (whatever that may be).
I'm still hopeful this is not a lost season at all, for the Beavers, or whichever players whose plans/hopes/outlook have been changed by the coaching changes, whether they have moved on or are still here. None of these kids deserve the berating some here have done, to get a scholarship at this level you've got to be a pretty darned decent player. I'm hoping they all find success in filling their niche, and will root for all the Riley and the Andersen kids as they continue their dreams.
