So, Washington has NINER as OC................and Matt Lubick as Co-OC at Udub...............
OK. In both cases, there's a connection to Oregon State..........A successful era at Oregon State.
F it. I want Niner, Lupoi(recruiting), and Lubick(receivers/offense/recruiting) as a combo platter/three-headed HC by committee. That'll show'em. Experienced be damned. Get'em while they're young. They all got BIG BOY experience.
Screw it. If CGA falls on his face in a few years, take Mike Riley for stability.
Or, roll the bones, again, and go with the younger ones like a Lupoi, Jonathan Smith, or Matt Lubick. At least the young guys can probably recruit better. Lubick sounds like a great one in the making. Niner is a Beav. Lupoi......like Lubick can recruit. Not sure if he can really coach.
Good night.

All I know is I vomit every time I see a new 4 Star become a Quack with a First Year Coach from BF Florida. Yeah.... I know Nike and all! Figure that all out!

I totally agree. The problem is "Build it and they will come.". oregon (PK x 2) has put A LOT of $ into that program. The over-the-top opulence is sicking. Now that they have invetsed the $, they have put together a "perfect" staff of silver-tongued devils. I don't know if any of them can actually coach...but they all can recruit. When you have the facilities that are in eugene and know how to spin those facilities into the words that kids like to hear, you get what we are seeing. I don't like it, however it appears to be the reality.

Reading the quotes from oregon commits most of them mention that they want to play for a National Championship at oregon. That may or may not be a fantasy, but most of them grew up watching oregon compete on the national stage. It is difficult to recruit against that perception. If CGA does not work out, I would like to see us go for a younger coach who is known for his coaching and recruiting. There will be some young hot coach from a Mid Major who will be looking for an opportunity at a P-5 school.

So Calvin Tyler is apparently showing he has quizz like ability. BJ Baylor is not far behind. Two star recruits.
Maybe it is working.

Simple solution, everyone direct deposit their paychecks into the OSU athletic department and we will start seeing some results. Need facilities to match UW, USC, Hole and we aren't even close.

How about the Foundation getting in gear and leading the way to finish the stadium? If they can't see how that helps the school's image, they should resign.

And then when we pay in they up the ante again. Not saying we shouldn't contribute something, but let's be real. USC has some very, very wealthy donors - far more than OSU - and will almost always be able to top us. tsdtr has at least big one. UW has a bunch of arrogant posers that believe they are rich How about if we set one small goal and reach that before we go full paycheck?

One goal should be to consistently fill the stadium as is prior to discussing expansion/remodel.

One goal should be to consistently fill the stadium as is prior to discussing expansion/remodel. You mention Husky boosters ... i.e. the Tyee club. I think people forget how "influential" the zealous big-money boosters are to "top recruiting classes". Alot of money and girls are thrown out there to the top recruits. If one doesn't think that this isn't a major reason recruits go where they go, they are kidding themselves. Right now, ours isn't even close to matching up with the zeal of the most visible national programs. We usually end up with kids that the "others" just don't have room for. UO has built a pretty big booster network since the CK days(not just Uncle Phil). A good portion of these recruits are going there for reasons over and above just a glitzy football program.
