To move this off the Casey topic and BACK to the players: one of the few needs amongst position players will be 1B. Gretler may return, and he'd certainly have a shot at 1B, though his 3B play has really grown. Taylor at 1B? Maybe. But don't overlook incoming juco transfer Sophomore Alex McGarry. Currently playing his 'normal' 1B position in WCL for Kelowna. OPS of .907 after 17 games....with Zero errors. Whoever hits will be in the lineup. I would be surprised if Gretler did not play 1B and kids fight over 3rd base (Malone, George, etc...) just my 2 cents.

An infield of (right to left) Gretler - Madrigal - Grenier - xxx3B would be a pitchers dream.

He's pretty Catholic, but other than that I get it. You are certainly correct! you guys probably wont be hearing from me for a little bit because im about go hide in a dark room for a couple of days... we blew it πππππ Yeppers, it was Florida's time, and your squad ran into it's post-season slump at just the wrong time, and it hurts like hell, but you know that you'll be back in Omaha, and we'll be back in Omaha, and hopefully the umpires used at Omaha this time will be in Nome.

LSU blew(blue) their wad against OSU... Hopefully LSU & OSU will have a CWS rematch next year in the championship series, i will be looking forward to it

Just watched some replays of the season, wanted to checkout some kids early season, vs. later. Anyone notice how Grenier has both feet moving when he swings a bat? I had not noticed it in the early season, but at the end he was all over the box when he was swinging, right foot was never on the ground it seemed. I hope the coaches can get that worked out, I seriously doubt that is what he is trying to do. Not picking on him, great player, but he certainly fell off late in the year (yes, he wasn't the only one). Just an observation, don't shoot the messenger.

Speaking of Kyle Nobach, any word on the recovery? Any summer ball on his schedule? How long of a recovery period for his injury operation?

When scouting that is a huge tale tell/ hole in their swing. The swing begins on the ground with a solid base. Without it there is little chance of balance and being able to "see"/recognition of pitches. Many "dancers" are also "one eyed" because of their movement... their head drifts and for a right handed hitter the right eye is not forward. Hence, no depth perception. It's easily fixed, but most scouts see "dancers" as having mental questions/lack of confidence at the plate. That is tougher to overcome when facing better competition than a physical flaw.

I think Larnach should learn 1B. I know he is a good outfielder, but we will have Nobach, Kwan, Cary, Jones and a slew of others capable of running down balls in the outfield, back next season. Trevor is tall and athletic enough to play first base, and that keaves a speedier pair of legs in the outfield. Gretler stays at 3B. He is really good over there.
Just my opinion.

Just my opinion. spot on about Trevor, he will not stick as an outfielder at the next level. he catches the balls that are hit to him, but his range makes tough plays out of balls that are routine in pro ball. I like Gretler at 3rd, I think power will come with maturity and he could move up to be a 10-15 round pick next season.

Yeah if Larnach could play 1B that'd be ideal for our lineup flexibility. That would allow Kwan, Anderson, and Nobach to start in the outfield and rotate in Donahue/Cary/Jones/whoever else is going to play in the outfield next year. With that said, I have no clue if Trevor has ever played first base so it might be a lot to ask. If he can't, we'll probably see Malone or a freshman there.
