I was adding Larnach's name to the list. I am fairly sure most people who take the time to post on this board understand the two-different-people concept. Hay Zeus.

I won't even comment on the position players or catching because of the depth and quality. There will probably be a couple of transfers simply because of lack of playing time for quality players.
Pitching will be interesting, and I was one of the guys who had doubts coming into this season. Proven wrong obviously as no team gets to the last 4 in Omaha without good pitching.
As for next season, I see great possibilities even though most of the pitchers are unproven and transfers and injuries are unpredictable.
My list: Kevin Abel. I see him as a big impact freshman. Any scouting report you read says major league quality breaking ball and great command. He would have been a high round draft choice if he wasn't so certain on OSU for the next few years. Will pick up a lot of velocity. Luke. Anybody's guess. Tweedt. I like him a lot more than Baseballll, but he does need to develop some more movement on his pitches. Fehmel. When his command is present, he makes good hitters look sick. Britton. Needs command, but has some quality pitches. Looked decent in a couple of his starts. Eisert and Mulholland. Both guys had velocity similar to Luke's freshman season, but both already have good command. I look for more future velocity out of both guys, and think their future can be very good. Gambrell. Develop command and he will be a future major league guy. Needs innings this summer. Verburg. Really like this guy. Will hit 94-95 next season with a plus slider. Needs off-speed pitch though he may already have one and the situations did not call for it. Donovan. He was highly regarded coming in. Throws hard. Big guy. If he can show command, his future is unlimited. Playing for Knights so that is a good sign to me that a transfer will not happen. Hickey. Early injury bug can't happen. Obvious talent when healthy. Needs innings. To me, a transfer worry. Tristan Garnett. Redshirt. Hear good things about his development. My suprise pitcher for next season. Will see how he throws for Bellingham this summer to prove that he is D1 future and his development is real.

You quoted my post so wasn't sure if you were trying to correct it or in addition to... I think all the smart folks like yourself know Larnach is coming back. Nobach had been a forgotten man with the knee injury and all. Anyhow.. mea culpa.

I have many things I am blaming, I just haven't gotten to myself yet. Hopefully by next February I will be able to rationally discuss all of this again!

I'd rather cut loose someone taking up space and not red shirt anyone.

You either make the team, or you don't. If somebody doesn't make the 35-man cut but comes back next year and is one of the 35 people who can best help your team, then welcome aboard.

I'm saying that red shirting a player doesn't help the team in that, if they turn out to be very good, we will only have them for two years, not three [They will leave as Juniors]. So ... I'd rather cut loose someone taking up space and not red shirt anyone. And I don't -- and neither should you -- presume to speak for Beaver Nation.

Anybody have a complete list on where all the players are playing this summer? I know there is usually an official release but obviously a little soon still for that to be published.

The Casey speculation is a little disconcerting. I, personally, do not see him leaving. What school is going to treat things any differently ? Where are things going to be better ? I can see Yeskie looking around, however, the team of Casey - Yeskie is powerful, Yeskie on his own is a risk for him, personally..... as we have seen with previous staff. As far as the pitching, I think we need guys with 3-4 pitches and the fast ball in the low to mid 90's. I am not sure that we have this now, or coming. Yeah, lot's of conjecture, but .... how will it play out against the competition next year ? I really hope to see Luke back for Friday nights. After that, I am open.

I wasn't aware that Casey going elsewhere was a realistic possibility. Obviously many schools would like to have him - but I got the feeling he is an OSU lifer.....
Sweet Jesus I hope so.
