Ok, we blew through the regional - didn't even have to play Nebraska - no surprise on the outcome. Now we are going to go up against either Vandy or Clemson. We have not played a quality club in a month, sorry tsdtr. Got me a bit anxious.

Yale was a quality club and we beat them twice.

Yale was a quality club and we beat them twice. Yale was a sound team and a worthy opponent. On the other hand: the number of games Yale played in 2017 vs. top 100 RPI teams (other than OSU) - a shockingly low, ZERO.

I am cautiously optimistic. LOL
Actually, I'm extremely confident.
Of course, I don't have to play the games.
I really love that Luke will be leading us off against either team. I watched both Clemson and Vandy play this weekend. I wasn't overly impressed.

Yale actually played two teams vs. top 100 RPI teams other than Oregon State. One is obvious, Nebraska. Yale beat Nebraska 5-1 at a neutral site (Corvallis). The other team that Yale played? Clemson. The Tigers beat the Bulldogs twice, 10-6 and 10-8 in Clemson. In fact, the only common opponent between Clemson and Oregon State is Yale. Oregon State beat Yale twice, 11-0 and 8-1 in Corvallis. Oregon State and Vanderbilt also only have one common opponent, Saint Mary's. Oregon State beat Saint Mary's 4-3 in Moraga. Vanderbilt beat Saint Mary's two-out-three in Nashville: 9-8, 1-5, and 9-1.

Thanks for that info - I probably mis-read the D1 Baseball RPI webpage

We're ready, every time I ask my self that question I remember and article I believe that Olive ran about Madrigal. This Kid sets his mind to a goal and he does it. I believe that he has been a key piece of leadership that's lead to such consistency and an amazing and record braking win loss ratio. I also point out we have the one thing Vandy and Clemson don't have.
Coach Casey.
In Casey I Trust, Go Beavers.

Anybody have the actual Roster for the Regional? Gambrell left off? Tommy Paul? After watching Vandy Play, those kids hit! Soo, it boils down to Pitching (Always) and if we can hit. Wow.... I am really smart! LOL

I am really smart! LOL Vandy will present a challenge, but not a challenge in the sense of climbing a mountain. More like a challenge of waiting in line at the DMV until the beavs put them away. You know it will happen but your patience will be tested.

I am really smart! LOL I've asked that same question. For whatever reason the postseason roster is always a mystery and never available. Having said that and knowing Gambrell did not make it, it is easy to figure out. The last spot is either Paul or Hickey.

They announced the playoff roster for every game before the game....from what I remember, Paul and Gambrell were the only 2 pitchers that pitched this year that weren't on the roster.

I think it's a snarky, but fun look - after all the writer talks about the pitching matchup, and balls don't carry here like Vandy's usual ball parks so I am not sure their long ball thing is as big a difference as he makes it, but in the end chicks dig winners. And the Beavs are winners!

And the Beavs are winners! Vandy bombing Goss is not much of a gameplan. Like you said, Nobody has ever turned Goss into a bandbox that i can recall. That westerly wind coming in over left field ruins that idea. And their pitching can't be much better than some of the good pitching the beavs have chewed up this year. Canning, Peterson all had a good cry when they tried to navigate the beavs lineup. Beavs just need to play their game. And they will.
