Saw that SDTR received a bunch of commitments this weekend. After our Civil war win, I thought we might start catching up to them especially when it comes to recruiting.
First I read that the 4* Lineman from LO committed - not to us, and then so did a number of other high ranked commits. Sorry, I was not in the mood to read the full articles.
One of the reasons that Coach Anderson gave for an early spring practice was to be able to focus on recruiting. My eyesight must be failing because I am not seeing any signs of better recruiting.
On a positive note: Two Beavers drafted - Ducks 0. Yep they were shut out..... As long as this trend continues, I will be happy.

I just saw that i think they have seven total committs 5 of those being 4 stars. Not a good sign considering how slow they started last cycle.
I too have been waiting on our next committ. It would be really nice to get a good qb to build this class around. It bothers me that they got webb who it seemed our staff pretty much found for them but they swooped in with glitz and glamour.
If this staff can get a top qb i will feel good going ahead. I think they are able to get the talent we need to win in other positions but the team can only go as far as the qb will take them. Its still early but all of these 4 star committs down the road is a little bit worrisome.

I'm 100% sure that every division 1 school (like the Beavers) have signed ZERO kids that have verbally committed for 2018...
I expect all of these kids that have verbally committed to any college; will consider, visit and/or choose another college by signing day... heck they haven't even played a game as a senior...
IMHO - It's kinda silly to be talking about the 2018 class right now...

Well its slow and its something to talk about especially when they have started off so hot with a new coaching staff. its nice to get a feel for how your class is filling up and what needs u have even if some decommitt along the way.

He's doing the recruiting for the football team now.

Coaches definitely haven't been sitting around. Lot of offers were extended last week.

Quick, without looking it up, what is that state/nation pictured below the image of Texas? I gotta admit I probably need to look it up.
edit: I did look it up, was pretty close on my guess.

You win.. and Coach Chad K got to sit on a plane for a really long time. Hate to have the middle seat on a flight full of Samoans.

According to 247 sports, we have offered 13 QBs for next season. 4 have already committed elsewhere (one to UW, one to Utah, and two to Texas), and of the other 9, only Brevin White and Steven Comstock have us in their top 5 (again, according to 247 sports). Brevin White has offers from 8 schools, UW, Utah, ASU, WSU, Tennessee, Colorado St., and Fresno State. Steven Comstock has other offers from Eastern Washington and Idaho.

I Personally do not get to worked up in comparing our recruiting to other schools, especially at this point in the game. Heck, for most of the recruiting period last cycle our class ranked ahead of u$c, it certainly did not end that way. I think it is more important to compare with ourselves in the past and to see improvement, especially this early in the game. Now granted I would like to see us show better than the back end of the Pac 12 in recruiting rankings, but this is where we have been basically since they started ranking it.
So to compare with ourselves in the past. Since the coaching change we have started getting commits earlier having about 2-4 by the end of May (I see this as neither positive or negative just the way things have happened). This year Andersen's staff had commits earlier than ever before in March. We are ahead of schedule for ourselves and I would guess this trend will continue as you will see at least a couple more commits in May.
Just like others the only commit the ucks had recently that bothered me was Webb as we had connections and I thought he would see past the glitz and glamour. I felt Jaramillo would have been a good commitment, but thought he had spent years in the state being swayed with superficial things from the ucks.

Hell.....I think Gart has every right to be concerned. The schmucks are real close to having a top ten recruiting class. Us? Uh....no. Either our staff is being out-worked, or the bling bling at hole is just too much to overcome. It concerns the hell outta me. Why wouldn't it?
