No way! Who could have seen this coming???
LOL, and we're barely a few weeks into this whole nonsense. Good times. CalFurd are going to go down as the biggest desperate morons to ever walk the planet. Pretty ironic for being such "smart" schools. Have fun being an afterthought in the furthest flung conference, while literally running your athletic programs into the ground.

Someone mentioned on the UW v Rutgers 'week x' game thread, the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the country. LOL, I nominate that for quote of the year on Benny's House :-)

One of the dumbest comments I've ever seen was on r/baseball where I brought up that long travel does have an effect on performance which is one reason professional leagues are fairly regional. SEC fan posted that, " half our conference games are away"....it wasn't a Missouri fan either who could have some argument lol

How funny would it be for the Big 10 and Big 12 conferences to be won by former P12 teams. Both are possible. ACC not so much...but ya never know.

Speaking of cal and stanford just because they are supposed to be smart doesn't mean they have common sense.

What really sucks is to think how much stronger the rebuilding Pac-12 would of been with Cal and Stanford in it.
we sure as s%#t wouldn't be playing this dumb games with Memphis and crap like that. It is what it is. And as we have noted before, at least for Stanford, it wasn't about the money... it was about their reputation.
I could probably write a lengthy and long winded post about how problematic, certainly elitist, likely colonialist, and debatably racist that attitude is, but I will save it. It is 2024, this is college sports. We get it Stanford, you and your 30 something billion dollar endowment is very, very cool and you are a super awesome school. its fine. you can come play sports ball with Boise state and nobody will laugh.

On some level I agree, but mostly not. My attitude in life, whether it be a bad personal relationship or former conference mates - if you really do not want to be with us, and you think you sh*t doesn't stink - good riddance. I want people in the conference that are excited to be here, and have respect for us. Respect is a two way street.
I am actually kind of glad the Cali schools are gone, and I feel a little like my feelings for bitch tits - looking forward to your failure - sucks to be you!

It has been my argument all along that Hole/UW killed the conference. We could have survived and even thrived without USC/UCLA. But when Cal and Stanford acted like idiots instead of standing firm, the Pac 12 lost some of its power to attract stronger universities. Rebuilding with two feel Herculean.

But when Cal and Stanford acted like idiots instead of standing firm, the Pac 12 lost some of its power to attract stronger universities. Rebuilding with two feel Herculean. I absolutely agree they were the deathblow. 100%. Losing USC and UCLA wasn't awesome, but it didn't kill the Pac-12. We had SDSU immediately ready to join and a million teams would of jumped in (I think SMU was there ready to go too.). I personally think Colorado leaving was entirely inconsequential. Colorado, right now, is the utter definition of a passing fad. When Sanders bounces this season, and he is assuredly going to bounce or I will pull my best OA running naked down the streets impression, So too will their national relevance and multimillion view games. The 9 remaining schools were fine and could of been fine and still could of commanded the money the resulting schools all ended up getting anyways, except not had the travel nightmare. In the end, the implosion of the Pac-12 screwed everyone that left on all fronts except maybe some money for the AD's budget, but nobody is happy with it. Everybody that did it should be fired. and by that I mean fired into the goddamn sun with a cannon.
