Beavers go bowling while Sparty stays home? Michigan State has kind of a tough schedule. Six straight to start the season before the first bye this weekend. The rest of the schedule sets up a lot better schedule-wise, but that is a tough back six. The easiest path to bowl eligibility is probably Indiana, Purdue, and Rutgers. That seems unlikely at the moment.

That offense is ugly. Nobody expected them to beat Ohio State and Oregon, but barely sneaking past Florida Atlantic, barely beating Maryland, they have put up more than 20 points twice... Chiles has gone from looking like the next big thing to completely lost overnight. His passing is outright bad, and he is not making up for it on the ground. It really brings up something that we just can't ignore. Smith has yet to really develop his own QB. Period. the best QB Smith has coached at OSU wasn't his. It was Luton. Every other QB that has been his QB has been middling at best. Luton is the only QB that went to the NFL and have an overall impress body of work. Luton really had an outstanding 2019 season. It got him drafted. He did a pretty good job with Chance Nolan in 2021, but didn't really follow that up in 2022. There were injuries, but truth really is, is after 2021, Chance didn't come back at the next level. Is that on Chance or is that on the coach. They brought in DJU, and DJU was the exact same guy we was at Clemson. is that on DJU or is that on the coaches? Chiles, is only a sophomore, but a kid that, for better or worse, got a dedicated series in literally ever game last season. He got extensive game experience, more so than any typical back up is going to get. The highest rated transfer of last year. He is not off to a hot start. Everything that made Smith successful at OSU was A. a strong OL and running game and B. making Bray the DC finally. we started winning when Bray became DC and we suddenly shaved nearly 10 points per game off our average. Smith doesn't have a running game yet at MSU. But what really makes me scratch my head, is for 6 season at OSU, the former QB never once really threw the ball around. Never once got and developed a QB that was a strong passer and never once leaned on a passing offense. It is hurting him now. Chiles is not a developed passer. Smith is a good HC because he surrounded himself with important coaches. Coach M on the OL. made the call (some would say too late) to hire Bray as DC. He made OSU a winner again. but what is rearing it's head at MSU, is he isn't actually building QBs. he never did it here. Is it really Smith or is it Lindgren? He's the OC and the QB coach. Either way, I think Chiles will be fine. The Beavers probably had more on offense last year than MSU does right now and I think Chiles was able to step in without having the pressure of starting and playing entire games. He's still very young. He's been with Lindgren long enough to know his faults and take steps to correct.

If Mich St fans truly believe they should have beat Ohio St and Oregon in year one of a rebuild, they’re more delusional than our fans! I think it's the fashion in which they lost. They got thoroughly owned by both

Bitch tits and the losers in East Landfill are actually celebrating this moral victory. Success must be rare for Sparty.
“Salerno noted that Michigan State was the first team to score an offensive touchdown over the Ducks in nine quarters.“
LOL!!!

In my opinion. The difference between OSU Chiles and MSU Chiles is the luxury he had last year of stepping in behind our quality offensive line. He is playing behind a terrible OL this year and his play and their record reflects it.

I'm fairly sure MSU would be 5-1 right now if they had the luxury of playing our schedule to date.
I'd like to think we'd be 3-3 if we played theirs, but Hole beat us by 35 in our crib and MSU by 21 at home.

I mean, he took 3. three pretty significant ones, but still only three. honestly not as many as you'd think. a QB, a OL and a TE. Right now, I'd say what hurts us most in the two defense losses to USC in the Arnold bros. Of everything I see right now, that would make the biggest impact on the field today for us. Injuries have killed us more than transfers.

That wasn't the case against us, so comparing the final scores is not valid. Your other point is probably valid. IMHO, of course.

Go Beavs, good luck to JS luck the rest of way, hope Hole gets crushed this weekend. See yall at Reno Techs quasi HS stadium Saturday.
