Honestly I think other MWC and AAC teams are still on the table. Money talks. Remaining MWC schools are supposed to sign their new agreement sometime today.
I’m old enough to remember this:

The likelihood of Sacramento State building both a new basketball arena and new football stadium is exactly, precisely - 0. Not zero, the movement is already underway and Sac State raised student fees for newfacilities. If they can get the football stadium built first that's a good start. There is also very little opposition to it. The City wants it too. But agree the odds are low both get built. They could potentially use the NBA arena downtown in the interim. sactownsports.com/ncaa-sacramento-state-football-sac-12-plans-new-stadium/ The “movement“ for a new basketball arena at Sacramento State has been “underway“ for about 45 years. With zero progress to show. As far as a new football stadium, the prospects are even less encouraging.

Unlv thinks they are headed to the B12 so they don’t want to get into a long term deal with the P12.

A question for someone out there. How long til the poaching fee lawsuit is resolved? Not sure where the MWC is getting 30 mil to pay unlv but if it is in whole or in part from the poaching fees and mwc loses the lawsuit then what? We have no idea. Frankly, the MWC is in a stronger position than the Pac. They have a conference and a media deal. If I was the MWC commissioner, I might take on the strategy of letting the suit stretch out. The Pac 2 can't do much about it. No, it is not. The media deal we/WSU threw together for this season, with just two teams, is superior to the MWC's existing deal, which lasts another full year. The CW is supposedly very happy. There is no reason next year's deal won't be better, considering the attractive games we already have. We have taken the MWC's best basketball and football programs. We have taken most of their top media markets. Yes, we will owe them some money, but that is money we got from the departing 10 that we said would specifically put to work rebuilding conference, not simply sit in the bank. Yes, we need one more team. We'll get one. Yes, GU is still on the fence. I believe they will come. I choose to remain optimistic.

Brett McMurphy continues to double down that Gonzaga is coming once we have a full conference. Of course a lot of people are saying a lot of things but I choose to believe that one just because I like it.

Load up a bonus for Grand Canyon University, get them to come aboard with a promise to add football. Other sports are solid, they have great facilities and it would be a great destination for travel

UNLV might be a bullet dodged given their debt, etc. Loved it for a travel destination of course. Maybe we look at Texas State/New Mexico and Grand Canyon for hoops (plus other sports - baseball/softball/soccer, etc) - create a SW mini-pod. UTEP as a back-up plan or another run at UTSA. Yeah UTEP sucks, but someone can be the doormat. IMO we already have a solid core and are the clear cut best of the rest (behind the big 4 but ahead of everyone else).

Unlv thinks they are headed to the B12 so they don’t want to get into a long term deal with the P12. The GOR talked about with Memphis, etc. was only 5 years...right about the time the B12 would look for a new media deal and the ACC would come up as well. No one is being locked in by 5 years. UNLV is just...I don't know what they're thinking. Even if the offer were $30 million for them, they could make that back up in 3-4 years in the Pac and then some. Especially if we offered any assistance.

I don't really understand all of the debbie downer, sky is falling sentiment.... We went from DOA, 2 team "conference", with ZERO invites from other conferences. To a 7 team conference, which AS IT STANDS NOW, is the 5th best conference in the NCAA, and one football team away from a rebuilt Pac-12... Yall need to take a deep breath and be excited that Gould, Barnes and crew has saved the Pac! IMHO... Memphis and Tulane saying no == Bullet dodged. I never understood their appeal to a west coast league. UNLV boosters and fans are PISSED about this, and they will regret this for a LONG time. Very bad, short sighted move on their part. If it was me I offer San Jose State, Wyoming, New Mexico State and Texas State.... First that says yes gets the spot. It would also be delicious to offer Nevada and NOT UNLV and have them say yes... but just for spite and not because they are the best option remaining Bottom line the Pac-12 is in a MUCH better place today the it was a few weeks ago! Three cheers for Gould, Barnes, McMurthy, etc!

I know it hasn't been signed yet, but part of UNLV and Air Force committing to staying in the Mountain West is that all 7 remaining schools would sign an agreement to stay.
So many people keep mentioning that we should offer San Jose St, Wyoming, etc. They are all most likely off the table.

Unlv thinks they are headed to the B12 so they don’t want to get into a long term deal with the P12. I suppose, getting 30 mil and not paying 17 mil is a 50 million dollar swing..... IFF the Big 12 actually comes calling... They were the Pac's, what 8th choice? Why do they think the Big 12 is coming for them???

Same exact scenario when we sniped Utah State Same exact scenario when all 10 remaining Pac-12 teams committed to each other... we saw what happened there

The Albuquerque CSA is 1.16M (#49 in the country). As wild conjecture, I wonder if it's a combination of culture. A lot of first and second generation Spanish speakers who are not culturally into American football? A high percentage of super smart folks who do research at Sandia and Los Alamos who care about art and calculus and not so much sports? I like Albuquerque and I've never understood why UNM football is an afterthought.

Yea, I'm not buying UNLV to big 12. Unless the big 12 brass wants an excuse for a Vegas trip maybe
