No one (to my memory) has ever said we missed him.

To the extent that it would prevent the coaching stuff from coaching like a bunch of boneheads, I very much miss DJU.

Johnson was kneecapped from the start by the bad snap that put him in a 2nd-and-18. Not the recipe for success. In fact, it's the same sort of situations Marcus McMarryion faced when Anderpants consistently put him in games at the start of his career.
"Oh, first down on our 4-yard line? Go get 'em, Marcus, show me what you can do."
I don't think that one series impacted the game very much at all. He didn't play at all in the second half, when they steamrolled us.

Would it have turned an L to a W? No, probably not. But it was stupid. It was stupid last year. It's dumber this year without a Chiles being the guy coming in. The Chiles nonsense arguably cost Oregon State both the Arizona and Washington games last year. You are basically arguing that we should wait for treatment until it is a Stage Four Cancer. Stage Three? Psssssssssh. Why would I even start treatment? Why would we do one little thing to make the situation better? I personally disagree with that way of thinking.

Who? He and our midget ex-coach are both dead to me.

No, I'm saying giving our backup QB one series in a half to get some game experience didn't have anything remotely to do with the outcome of today's game.
And our departed head coach's lame-brain decision to run a fake instead of kicking a field goal just before halftime impacted the loss at Arizona far more than one series with Chiles. Who, IIRC, was pretty darn successful most of the time he played, seeing as how he accounted for seven TDs running/passing in brief appearances over nine games.
You obviously feel differently. No big deal.

I think we win some of the game we lost if he just ran for the first on several occasions on drives that stalled out. As we have noted. the dude is a load.

No big deal. Of all the things that went wrong yesterday, giving our back up a series is so far down the list it isn't even on the list. Yes. I also am in the camp that that the fake kick at Arizona, while monumentally stupid in the end, didn't matter. We lead the game entering the 3rd quarter. However, At the end of the day, I am in team: don't take the starting QB off the field. It is dumb.

Simple answer is NO. DJU was inconsistent here and he sucks for the Seminoles. McCoy is consistent and solid and will only get better.
Good riddance to DJU and the rest of the traitorous, unloyal players and coaches who abandoned OSU. Moving on.

Was that really all on the snap? Watching it live I thought the snap was low and to right, but handleable, I thought McCoy would have grabbed it. I’m not likely to watch the replay but if someone posts it that would be interesting to see. I didn’t like putting Johnson in in that game, but clearly the cfp is out of reach for this team, so I actually don’t have a problem playing him a series or more the rest of the schedule. Bowl games are a farce, so once the cfp is out of reach, I’m all for experimentation and making the season as fun as possible (yes, I understand wins make it fun, but I don’t think it will change our win total more then +-1)

Would he elevate the current team? I don't think so. We need receivers and linemen.

I don't know about the current team, but I sure would like to see this year's team if everybody would have stuck around (coaches included).
But we don't live in that world
