None of the scenarios listed would make a "Power" conference, unless the supposed "2nd Phase" included Cal, Stanford, and maybe UCLA and Colorado after Peon Dieon bolts after this season. If not a power conference, would it not be smarter to ride things out a bit longer? Why not just join the MW if we are willing to settle for another "Group of XX" conference? And no, if we form/join another conference ALL sports - including baseball- will be a part unless no/few other schools offer it (think w. gymnastics and wrestling). A power conference can be made if you add the right teams from the right markets. In addition, it’s all about the TV deal. If you can get a legit tv deal that gives you the money to stay up with the big boys, then we have a chance to become a power conference simply because the money we bring in is that of a power conference. Teams like UNLV are on the rise and in bigger markets. SDSU is in a bigger market, has a brand new stadium, and I think is one or two moves from ticking upward in their trajectory. If you look at the other “power” conferences, I think UNLV, Boise State, Fresno State, SDSU all have the chance with the right money to be on par or surpass the success and popularity of teams like Baylor, Iowa state, Rutgers, Houston, Cincinnati, and others similar to them. It’s all about TV money and exposure. If you can get those things right, and add the right teams in the right markets, you have the potential to build the one “power” conference on the west coast.

This may be expensive. But, unless the Big 12 is giving any hope of adding the Beavs and Cougs, what else makes sense?

Take the best and leave the scraps. I hope your just joking because I remember how many of us were angry that when we found out that Washington and Oregon jumped ship leaving the rest to tumble like Dominoes , all except for OSU and WSU leaving their futures in question . Whoever is left in the life boat that is now the MWC must be feeling the same way

Take the best and leave the scraps. Yea this whole situation is about greed, and it stinks to high heaven. I'm hopeful about the rebuild, but I feel for those left behind. It doesn't feel good, as we know all too well.

Yes. We have no business jumping on those left behind in the MWC with glee. Ducks do that , not Beavers

This is a solid situation with plenty of upside potential

Yeah, true. But to me CSU is by far the weakest of the four and IMO behind UNLV at this point. The Denver media market is almost double the size of the Las Vegas media market, and Colorado State plays current media darlings Colorado at least six times from 2029-2037. UNLV is definitely team #5 behind Boise, Colorado State, Fresno, and San Diego State. I personally take UNLV #5 to try and get the Las Vegas Bowl. I don't know who team #6 is, though. It would be great if it was UTSA or Tulane or both. Utah!

There are no P4 schools to "rebuild with." Where did I say there were any? Lol You want the Pac-12 to be a P4 conference. You are obviously unhappy with adding G5 schools. A logical person would then assume you want us to rebuild with P4 schools to make us a P4 conference. Hence the statement, "There are no P4 schools to rebuild with."

UNLV would be a far-superior add to either Memphis, Tulsa, UNT or UTSA. Far superior.
